Man everyone on here just keeps talking about Stevie Winwood's amazing singing and that's really something for him to outshine this incredibly excellent video that no one is mentioning. This seems like a really sophisticated music video for the time. Artsy. M.C. Escher, rented out an entire department store for the shoot, the LOL hair dryer moment with Stevie's ironic lack of acknowledgement, the mannequins 2:00, the stiff, affected manner of the performers, the seamless segue from the department store mirrors into the multi-screen effect even with double exposure 2:10, the mechanical penguin's steps are even synchronized to the music 1:40. How many times have you EVER seen anyone risking dismemberment by lying prone on a moving escalator? 1:10 EXCELLENT!!

This video contradicts the fabulous energy of this song. One the best vocal performances in rock / pop / r+b ever!

Spencer Davis, the leader of a rock group that had some of the most propulsive and enduring hits of the 1960s, including “Gimme Some Lovin’,” “I’m a Man” and “Keep On Running” - all sung not by him but by a teenage Steve Winwood - died Monday October 19, 2020, in Los Angeles. He was 81. The cause was pneumonia, Bob Birk, his booking agent and friend, said, adding that Davis had been hospitalized for the last week. Davis co-wrote “Gimme Some Lovin’,” his group’s biggest hit. He played rhythm guitar in the band and occasionally sang lead vocals, lending his baritone voice mostly to blues-oriented material and never to the band’s hit singles.

Birmingham, England. The Second City. Lead the world into the Industrial Revolution, supplied the forces with arms and munitions to defeat Hitler and gave some of the best music, (from all genres), the world has ever heard. I LOVE my city

This is one of my favourite songs to turn on full blast while driving down the interstate. Windows rolled down, Music turned all the way up, and a long stretch of open road to go down. Best times.

Lifetime favorite tune! I have such a strong memory of this song. I was a freshman in high and went to my first dance. The local cover band was set up in the cafeteria on a short stage. The band played this magic tune with the repetitive bass beat and kids danced in the low light. That scene is etched into my memory and every time I have heard the song for the past 55 years, I think back to that time, and smile remembering that image.
