Last Saturday was opening day for rifle season here in Tennessee. Our six year old heard my husband’s alarm clock at 3:45am from across the house. It wasn’t much longer we heard little feet coming our way and then “is it time to go hunting daddy?” Deer season brings some of the best times and memories. ❤️

I made your breakfast hash recipe for lunch! Boy was it GOOD! I used pepper jack cheese instead of cheddar, and it was perfect for a lunch meal. 🥰 I added some cut up pears and bananas that needed to be eaten for a quick fruit salad side!

Growing up my dad always went turkey and deer hunting every year. One of my brothers and one of my sisters also continues this tradition each year as they can! Deer jerky is my personal favorite treat, and a good roast is always so comforting. I haven't had deer or wild turkey meat in decades as I do not live near my folks and do not hunt myself. The goodie bags you guys made looked fun and yummy!
@dawnmontoya444411 ай бұрын
We have cousins that are avid hunters. The wife and daughter do bow hunting and the mom always gets a turkey by bow. Beginning of November the teen girls did a 78 mile hunt over 5 days. They saw 3 of the deer and harvested 2 of them! A little earlier, their son drew for a bull elk. Huge animal! I wish I could add photos here. If interested send me a place to send the pics. Happy hunting!

Jennifer, I love your videos…even the simple day to day ones 😊. Reminds me of the times when my children were still at home, which was my favorite time of my life 💟💟💟. I grew carrots this year successfully in my vertical garden (green stalk) and, I must say, they were incredibly sweet and delicious!! I’m sure yours are the same! It must just be home grown is so much better!! I grew the Tri-color kind and a regular orange kind. Of course, not enough to preserve but I gave some to my daughter and we had them cooked with two different roasts. Oh, so good!! We have muffins like yours here in central Indiana as well…we call them “Morning Glory” muffins and they really are delicious!! I hope you have a wonderful and very blessed Thanksgiving and of course a bountiful hunting season! 🥰

My husband just got his second buck of the season. Is actually on his way to the processor right now. SO thankful for being able to fill our freezers! The first buck weighed 207 lbs. Besides the back strap and tenderloin, he had the rest made into ground spicy sausage. This one will be steaks and ground burger. Hoping to get one more for our family, one for our son, and one for a friend of ours.

In Missouri, landowners get free deer tags just because it's their land and they've fed the deer all year. I think we always got 3 deer tags. Do they do that in Wisconsin, too?

I'm so excited for you and your hunters.... did you get to go? Does Maria show an earnest interest in hunting? My brother-in-law is coming the day after Thanksgiving (opening day is Saturday here in PA - the 25th). My husband and his brother go out and enjoy their time together... while I'm home making all kinds of good food for them to fill up on when they come home. I do pack snacks, but not as fun as yours. I do a mix of all different kinds of nuts and stuff. Cashews, walnuts, peanuts, pecans... along with dried cranberries and dark chocolate chips. They seem to like it. The containers come back almost empty. I love this time of year with the anticipation of a deer harvest of some sort. We just finished the last of our ground meat this past fall... so... time to replenish. Praying for a good harvest. I'm so thankful that my husband and his brother get to do this together... and revisit the times they spent together as young "men". I look forward to seeing how it all goes for ALL of you. Hugs...

Not a criticism; but why do you hold your grater like that? If you set it down and hold on top. Then use gravity and grate down so the end of the carrot point up. That way you have a better hold on the carrot and can use your whole arm/shoulder to grate. Much more efficient. It looks like you are used to a flat grater instead of a box grater. Two different techniques are used.
@annamaria875511 ай бұрын
I'm sure she uses it the way it's most comfortable for her.
@ghc740011 ай бұрын
@annamaria8755 probably. But inefficient. But with a box grater you risk your knuckles whichever way you use it😉
