Hello again, Courtney. I watched your video from 2 months ago (shelling peas) and was touched by your offer to pray for your viewers. We have a real need for earnest prayer. I commented about it on the video I referred to. I continue to be amazed by your energy and your sweetness with your children. (I was so impressed when Rhett said, “God bless ya’ll” at the end of one video. Im thoroughly enjoying your videos and thank you for sharing them. Blessings! Vickie

There is something satisfying about making your own food. Yes , you can buy it from the store already made, but you really don't know what's in it anymore.

Sure we can buy “ready made”, but it will never taste as good, or, be as good for us as homemade that’s for sure. Thanks for sharing. I believe it encourages all of us to do more for ourselves and our families. Maybe try 5 gal buckets to soak your produce? You’ll be able to move them out of your way more easily. I bought white, food safe 5 gallon buckets on Amazon for a very reasonable price. Also, sometimes local bakeries / restaurants have food safe buckets with lids and they’ll just give them to you if you ask them to save them for you. I use them in my food garden too; they’re quite handy and they stack nicely for storing.

Canning is time consuming and so much work but it’s so enjoyable and worth it. Here I’m throwing energy dust your way lol. I love it. I have so many books I like to look through and get ideas of ingredient and make it my own. Enjoy girl.

Way to go!! I wish I still had your energy!! All that cranking of the apples reminded me of making ice cream growing up. Summer Sundays

I know it's exhausting but there's something about seeing those jars on the shelf that makes me feel so proud. Great Job!

You are awesome! Food preservation and cooking from scratch, I feel is the definition of labor of love! This is only my second year of preservation but I already feel that I'm progressing from last season with my setup and ways of doing things and I know you will find that too! Thank you for sharing!

Hi Courtney, I applaud you for choosing to make homemade applesauce for your family! This just shows how much you care about your family and the food that you are providing. I too live in upstate South Carolina. I just finished making homemade muscadine and scuppernong jelly! It quite satisfying when you know you control what’s being put in your food! 😍

At Walmart and sometimes at places like dollar store and such they have these rubber sink and tub stoppers u can purchase. I have bought a set that had 3 different sizes to use. They r for both the tub and sinks. I wonder if one of those would work on ur kitchen sinks? Those sinks r amazing and I would hate to ever have to give them up if I were u 🥰

Hi Courtney! I’ve just found you this evening on KZbin. You are living my dream. I also live in upstate SC, in Union County. My husband and I had our 50th anniversary in June so it’s too late in life for us to do what you are doing but i admire and congratulate you! Praying blessings on you and your family! 💕

Very good to know. Did you cook the already strained applesauce again. And what, if any did you add to it. Loved watching this. 🤗

I did! You just bring it to a low boil. And I added 2 TBS of cinnamon to my big stock pot of it and that’s it! No sweeteners!

Question: are you not worried about cooking the applesauce with the seeds in? I thought that apple seeds were toxic?
@TheRedthundr

Actually the peels and the seeds are being strained out of the apple sauce. No harm.
Homemaking is sometimes messy. Plus a new pet??!
