I'm an OLD OLD Coronary Care ICU nurse. Just want you to know a heart that stops beating is NOT conducive with life. Cut out the caffeine. That's a worse culprit than sugar. Follow up with your cardiologist if you want to live a long healthy life. And what you do with the telemetry ( the wires ) grab 2 of the chest leads and wiggle them REAL fast until you hear the nurses screaming and running down the hall, then pretend to be asleep for lots of fun and excitment ( and probability of a really pissed of nurse... Not smart). A lot of heart attacks happen after a large meals.... Eat light. Please follow up with your doctors. You NEED to be concerned.

@FlyingZamora
@FlyingZamora 2 жыл бұрын
@@SmashhoofTheOriginal no such thing as a weird question for a nurse lol!!! It depends on a couple factors, best case scenario we can unplug the IV pole, it’s on wheels and has a battery, and some/most heart monitors are portable, and then she can just walk to the bathroom. If the cords don’t reach that far we can do a bedside commode, which is basically a chair with a bucket lol, we can put that next to the bed easy peasy, not glamorous but it does the trick. If she really needs to stay in bed, we can use a bedpan/fracture pan, or if you really wanna go down a rabbit hole, look up a purewick :)

I've had two great responses from medical people when looking at my test results, haha - one was an ER nurse who looked at my blood count, went pale, and looked at me and said "how are you even conscious?" That one resulted in me being taken by ambulance to a different ER. The other was a urologist who was reviewing a CT of my kidneys and said, "you rated your pain as a 3 out of 10. Are you sure about that? I'd have thought this would be a fair bit worse than that." And really, once he did the surgery I needed, I realized that it had hurt a lot more than I'd realized, it had just built up so gradually, I'd kind of gotten used to it.

I’ve had to have that “thing” pumped into my IV before, it felt very warm but more like a hot flash than anything. I believe I was getting a scan done because I had the flu bad when I was younger, they also made me drink this really nasty liquid so my lungs and what not would come out clear in the scan. If I could describe this drink from my memory it was super sweet and tasted like vomit. My mom promised to try it so I would finish taking the last couple drinks needed, and she ended up spitting it out in the sink from how nasty it was.

I went through almost the exact same thing last year. At the end of it all they told me to drink more water because all the testing came back normal. I have to avoid caffeine, alcohol and junk food because that all seems to trigger it for me although I also will get it randomly sometimes too. But so far nothing as bad as last year. It was 18hrs straight of my heart not beating properly at my worst. Hope you are able to get some answers!

Maybe it’s related to your sodium intake?? That’s why the junk food triggers it? Either way I’m glad you’re doing okay :)

Same! I’ve been to the cardiologist countless of times trying to figure out my palpitations and they told me to drink more water and I’ve seen improvement since I’ve started to be more mindful of it throughout the day.

As someone who has made a habit of almost dying out of nowhere and uses morbid humour to get through it, the medical personnel go either way. Either they laugh and join in with a lot of vigour or they think I'm crazy. Or they think that just because I'm joking I'm lying about my very serious symptoms. Which is just greeeeat.. hope you get it sorted!!

honestly so relatable to be like better evoke the bad symptoms so they take me seriously, one of the reasons i dont seek medical care as soon as i honestly should is the fear of being told oh youre fine dw, (its better but i feel like id still wait a week to go to the doctor if i ever get a heart attack cuz im like eh lets just wait maybe its nothing and it goes away). I do hope the cardiologist can shed some more like on the whole heart thingy and its not gonna be a hassle to deal with!

From one chronically ill person: this is not normal!! Sometimes you’ve lived with the problem for so long you don’t really think about it anymore, but your heart skipping beats, having to suddenly lie down so you don’t faint, none of that is fine! I’m only a minute into the video, but you’ve definitely got something going on that needs to be taken care of, otherwise it will progress and get worse with time, including not being able to lie down fast enough and just bashing your head into the ground instead.

the idea of having an ‘urgent care’ for emergencies and then having to go to the hospital after for the ER I- in the uk you have the GP, and you make an appointment and it’s for slightly less urgent things like UTIs and anemia, but if you’re worried about something like YOUR HEART NOT BEATING PROPERLY you just drive straight to the nearest ER and the NHS will take care of you. America sound dangerous asf man 😭

I would look into POTS. It's an autonomic nervous system disorder that can cause problems with your heart rate and fainting. It mostly causes problems when standing up from sitting or laying down, or standing for long periods of time. It can be treated fairly easily, but a little difficult to diagnose since it mimics anxiety and heart problems but doesn't show up on most test for heart conditions. I wish you so much luck finding a diagnosis and treatment. I hope it doesn't take nearly 10 years like it did for me

My first thought was POTS or dysautonomia also. I have POTS, MCAS & EDS, and some of his symptoms sound really similar. Alex, you should ask them to do a tilt table test. And pay attention to when your heart rate skyrockets. Is is better when you sit or lay down? Does it get worse when you stand up or even sit up? And yea, IV saline does feel good. IV saline is actually one of the last lines of treatment for POTS. I have a port in my chest and I get 4 liters of saline every week. It makes a big difference in my tachycardia and palpitations. The IV saline keeps me from passing out when I stand up. Anyhow, I hope things get figured out and that it's nothing serious.

About you worrying about your animals if you die, I actually talked to that with my notary while writing my testament. I'm in Canada, so it might be different where you live, but you can't make your pets inherit some of your money OR make your relatives inherit of your pets. but what you CAN do, is to add a clause that when you die, you give an amount of money to the person who will be chosen to take care of the animals, with the condition that that money is used for the well being of the animals only and not for personnal use.

Hey uhh, I think it’s worth a try to not only see a cardiologist but also a neurologist since the issue might be something with your nerves and muscles. I’ve seen a documentary about a kid from Germany that was suffering with an irregular heartbeat and after a visit to the neurologist they eventually found out what it was - don’t remember though! - and he’s also been to numerous hospitals and doctors before that without any idea what it is. Anyway, get better soon and keep us posted!

I'm so glad you're doing better! Urinals for men/boys, doesn't bother hospital staff at ALL (part of the job)! As a mother..... (who's son is also turning 22yrs old this month) I'm very upset.... not because of what happened (that's scary enough) but, because your parents lied to and themselves (sorry...but, it's the truth)! They knew this when you were 15.... the doctors told them everything but, they chose not to tell you (probably hoping it would go away or not believing the doctors findings). I'm so grateful that my parents sat down with me and explained the pros and cons of my medical conditions (according to the doctors findings). I was never left out of any of my medical conditions (I was also 15 at the time). I'm 56 now and followed ALL their rules (everything you shouldn't or can't do... LOL!). Stay strong! Don't stress out! Pray! You got this!! FYI: I also live in NC (😭🤬;not born here [thank God] retired & sick elderly parent/s [mom's already passed]) but, I'm moving right after Daddy passes!! Peace & Blessings!!

I had similarish stuff earlier this year just much less severe, my heart would just randomly speed up for like 30 minutes and then it would go back to normal and this would all happen when I was chilling on the sofa so idk I tried not drinking caffeine most days and that seems to have taken care of it at least for now.
