In all seriousness, if some rando on the internet says "Tribal is offensive, you need to use typal!" I'll ignore them. Even if it's "consultants" that WotC has brought in, I don't know those people, I don't know their affiliations or accreditations. BUT, when I reach out to a friend who is a Native American and she says that yes, it is kind of offensive to her, I'll do my best to change that behavior.

@@commanderbydaenen that's arbitrary nonsense. When I asked my bi friend if i should stop saying "thats gay" about stuff she told me to stop acting like such a f-slur. So no your friends crybaby feelings are not a real reason to change how you speak. In fact you should be telling them they need to get over it not validating their fragility. Native Americans weren't the only people with Tribes they don't own the word. This is newspeak garbage where we pretend peopels feelings about words should change the words.

While i understand Tribal is insensitive, i think Typal is so...bland or, to put it roughly, sterile. Then again, the new name is made by the corpo, not the mtg fanbase/community. Personally would go for something like Squad or Guild.

We could use one of the scientific denotators they use to separate species of animals. Domain and Kingdom don't work. Maybe Phylum? Genus?
