They don't. Nylah just likes attention more than Bambu. She follows them everywhere, climbs onto Jesse's shoulders, and tries to be with them every chance she gets. Bambu doesn't like attention as much as Nylah, he goes off on his own and doesn't really like to be held. It doesn't mean they love Nylah more.
