maangchi 老师 what brand soy sauce do you use? I have Japanese soy sauce, but I think it is too salty and overpoweringly taste
@Maangchi Жыл бұрын
I use sempio Korean soy sauce but Japanese soy sauce will work well, too. Use dark and a little sweet soy sauce. www.maangchi.com/ingredient/soy-sauce

i love it when you do vegan/vegan-able recipes. i grew up in a city with many asian markets(Oakland, CA) but now live in mountains. 6 months finally i went to the city and bought these noodles. i can make it tonight maybe. but whenever i do, im sure it will be awesome. ive been cooking asian foods since the 1980's and still get excited for new recipes. THANK YOU much for all of your work :)

Made this on a hot summery thunderstorm day, my power went out for three hours & it was so hot & humid. So I decided to make this for the family, everyone loved it. I didn’t have jjolmyeon noodles so I used pho & small rice noodles, with slightly firmed cooked broccoli with pickled carrot. I had everything but rice syrup, so it was still overall super delicious.

I tried this recipe with konjac noodles because I had some in the cupboard that I needed to use. The flavor of the sauce and veggies was excellent, and the konjac noodles are good for the paleo diet, but I think next time I will use a different noodle to get that wonderful chewy texture. I have fallen in love with Korean food, thanks to your channel, and can't wait to try more recipes, especially those using gochujang - I can't get enough of it!

@wrongturnVfor3 жыл бұрын
he will just whine about maangchi not knowing how to serve korean food. Despite the fact that Koreans dont really serve food in separate plates as separate servings always. I am not kidding. He legit shouted at a korean restaurant once for doing so. I know Gordon aint a bad man, but he is too steeped in anglicized takes on other cuisines instead of the authentic experience. Sadly, that is what sells, which is why he is successful. People in US and UK want the food but according to their habits and palates. I want the authentic experience. I mean, the guy doesnt even know how to use star anise but insists on using it in random recipes because he learnt it in "India" when he spent time in "Mumbai". I don't know who taught him but no one uses star anise like that.
@mattm37567 жыл бұрын
