This movie really helped the US after 9/11 happened. It was a depressing time towards the end of 2001. Thank goodness to Sam Raimi Spider-Man

@@xnortheast1106 Clearly you don’t even have a clue how sensitive things were back then. A lot of films, tv shows, games, etc were affected greatly after 9/11. Even the smallest reference towards an explosive device or destroying a building was made to be removed. They were even cautious on even having the Green Goblin in the film. The films success made a great impact for helping Americans to confront adversity at its greatest peak and have hope again.

people may say its corny but without it marvel is nowhere...while 89 batman changed the landscape spiderman melded the two worlds of live action and comics perfectly toen wise..batman 89 was tim burton's baby same for returns...while rami had impact on his films they were marvel showing their overall future stuff a few years before they made iron man and the mceu...they were bigger ideas then just 1 man's vision like 89 batman which could of been so much better if others had some input

MCU took the blueprint on how to make a good well recieved superhero film from Raimi SM, Raimi’s SM looked at the first X-Men film to see if live action superhero films would translate well to the 00’s, and X-Men looked to Blade to see if their was any money to be made in the superhero genre itself. All in all, everyone got help from someone.

Blade was a mild success that opened opportunities, X-Men showed they could be profitable and successful, the Raimi Spider-Man films surpassed everything and began the 2000's leap towards comic book films

Tobey actually dreaded the kiss scene cuz he was upside down and did multiple takes for the scene and since the mask was blocking his nose he couldn't breath while water was soaking down his face and since he was kissing he couldn't breathe through his mouth at all, so the entire time he couldn't breathe while blood rushed to his head

There's actually only about 20 minutes of "action" total in this Spider-Man movie, believe it or not! Everything is just super well paced, so it feels like a lot. Modern Marvel films definitely have more action than this.

One of the greatest pieces of advice I ever got for enjoying movies is, when watching a certain type of movie, assume that kind of subject matter isn't in the fiction of that universe. For zombie movies, assume there are no movies/comics/shows about zombies in that universe. For Vampire movies, assume there are no movies/comics/shows about vampires in that universe. For superheroes, assume there are no movies/comics/shows about superheroes in that universe. This not only solves a SHITLOAD of plotholes, but makes characters more understandable.
