Spider-Man changed my life. After this movie my mom got me a Spider-Man drawing book and after that I knew I wanted to be an artist. You should know that the story behind this movie is actually almost as interesting as the movie itself. It's not the first live action Spider-Man, there was apparently a TV show in the 80s, or maybe the late 70s I don't know, but for decades there some false starts; I think I recall reading that at one point Tobe Hooper of Poltergeist and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was set to direct one of the first attempts in the late 80s. The one that *almost really* happened was in development in the early 90s, and was being led by James Cameron. One draft of the script for that is available online if you can find it, I don't know if it was the shooting script and have only seen a page and two of it myself, but it was apparently a little loosey-goosey with the mythos and they had, *of all people* , broad chested heartthrob Freddie Prince Jr. signed on to play gangly young nerd Peter Parker. I do recommend doing your research, internet scanning isn't usually the hottest technique to get creditable information.

I've always found it fascinating the different versions of what affected the spider over the years. When the comics first came out, the spider had been caught in an electrical field; this as power was yet to be found in every home in the country, and there was a lot of fear and doubt about its safety. Then in the 50's and 60's, the spider had been irradiated, after the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki introduced and terrified people to the nuclear age. Then in the 90's early 00's, genetic engineering was scaring people with fears of animal/hybrid abominations, and we have a genetically engineered spider causing problems.

I love that you're enjoying these classic Superhero movies!.. You're an amazing reactor, reacting to The Amazing Spiderman, very fitting… This is a great movie in general for it's time and has aged very well, besides, it's very interesting because of the details of the movie itself and the making, references… Just a couple of things I'd like to mention in regards of the movie: At 6:55 you watch the scene where Peter catches all of the stuff on the tray, that is actually Tobey Maguire catching the items one by one on the tray as they're dropped, that isn't CGI, those are practical effects. It's funny that at around 8:50 you mentioned that he's 'amazing' given the fact that the editorial name for the character is "The Amazing Spider-man" due to all the amazing different things he could do as a superhero; when he was released it was an amazing superhero for the time… I love how at 9:50 you just realized why kids do that horn hand poses all the time, hahaha… The hand gestures before that are in fact references to other superheroes and other mudras which are power-channeling hand gestures used by Dr. Strange and other sorcerer and reality-controling characters in the comics universe as far back as the 1950s & 60s… At 10:35 you can see Uncle Ben giving advice to Peter, those interactions were iconic in the original comic book series and became some of the backbone of the lore not only for Spiderman but for the comic book series and the route they were taking at the time, (including the iconic "with great power comes great responsibility"), it's very important for the Marvel Universe lore and mythology, but of course because of matters of movie running time, plot, screenwriting, they had to cram it all up into those brief scenes before Uncle Ben was murdered. Basically Uncle Ben's teachings and wise advise made Peter into the man of integrity and principles he became. At 14:30 the comment about Spiderman maybe being a woman isn't only a funny remark or goofy comment for comedic purposes but a reference to how Spiderman was intended/designed to be lean and "small" since Peter was supposed to be a teenager when he became Spiderman and that was often referenced in the original comics. At 16:45 you mentioned how he must be feeling/sensing something, that's supposed to be his "spidersense" which provides him the ability to sense and even act in a reflection action way when he senses some sort of danger. At the moment when The Green Goblin attacks the annual unity day celebration you can briefly see Stan Lee saving a girl in a traditional outfit and moving some people away from the falling rubble and debris. If you look closely the people at 17:10 whom the Green Goblin turns into skeletons or bones to put it in your words, are in fact part of the Oscorp board whom at the meeting decided to remove Norman Osbourne form his position as president and CEO. In fact he says "Out, am I?" before annihilating them. After 19:25 you start watching Norman Osbourne have and exchange with his alter ego "The Green Goblin" and funny enough that same year in The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers you can see Smeagol having a very iconic exchange in a similar fashion to this one. The kiss after 22:05 in fact have them an MTV award for best kiss, hahaha… Spiderman is one of the greatest and most profitable Marvel properties, it is a great character, a great and iconic story and yes, I do believe it's a great movie, it's a great start for "superhero movie series" genre in general, this is what sparked the interest in serious superhero movie franchises and it's great that you're doing these movies before The Avengers series and all that current MCU series, movies and stuff. I'm looking forward to more reactions of yours like this one, this was awesome!..

@@MagicMagy That's great! It's nice to see that you're developing your taste for superhero movies or discovering it and of course, superhero movies aren't for everyone, not everyone likes them nor enjoys them the same way, and even if you were to stop watching them thats OK, I'm just giving you hints at stuff that you might not know, you might not have understood at first or that would be important in the future or you might be interested in knowing about, just that... I love your reactions and the fact that you're so accepting and open to sugestions is great but remember to always do it for yourself before doing it for others, because when you do what you like and because you want to and feel like it, is very noticeable and there's that spark of joy and enjoyment and excitement that cannot be obtained in any other way but by having fun and doing what you like, enjoying yourself and being genuine, honest... I think that's one of the things that make your videos so enjoyable and relatable, because you're always so authentic; you have such a sweet and beautiful personality; and in regards of understanding and going along with the movie in general you are so perceptive, invested and smart, it's fun to watch along with you... Keep up the great work and thank you for the replies!!!

You've never seen Spider-Man at all, if this is your very first introduction to the character you chose the right movies to start off, they are classics😄 That scene where he catches MJ and the Tray of food is real stunt work. I think it took more than 100 takes to get it right the way you see it on screen. 😄

In This Movie They Showed Spiderman Himself delivers Green Goblins Body then Harry See's it ,but In Comics Harry Himself Finds His Dads Body and wants to take revenge on Spiderman because he thinks Spidey killed his father... The Death of Green Goblin is Comic Accurate..
@andythierry54023 жыл бұрын
A little too comic accurate for my taste, this need to be like the comic absolutely wasted Willem Dafoe’s acting in his dying scene giving him a comic reaction which doesn’t really work on screen, at least not when you’re older. I wish they had given him genuine reactions because there is a reason reactions are so exaggerated in comics and not necessarily in movies, at least not good ones because sure you could think of "The Room".

William Dafoe loved his role as green goblin(if I am remembering correctly) originally the studio didn't want to cast him as Norman/green goblin, but after they let him try a read of two scenes, they changed their minds. Upon being cast Dafoe made it known to Sam Raimi that it was very important to him to portray the character when he was in costume, telling the director that he didn’t want anybody else doing his role. A request Raimi agreed to, providing Dafoe do all the necessary stunt training required to look natural doing things like pilot the Goblin Glider or dropkick Spider-Man through a burning building. Hell, Dafoe went as far as to develop a unique fighting style for the Green Goblin with choreographers that complemented his superhuman abilities and the fit of his combat-suit, eventually settling on a straight-forward “meat and potatoes” fighting style that made use of the Green Goblins enhanced strength and contrasted with the more acrobatic, backflip orientated moveset of Spider-Man. according to Dafoe, he was exceptionally wary of allowing a Stuntman to don the Green Goblin’s military-grade armor as the face-obscuring mask of the suit only allowed the character to emote via body language. Something he questioned the ability of stuntmen to do, noting that their tremendous physicality and ability to look like they’re being kicked in the stomach without injury doesn’t necessarily translate to acting ability. As a result, Dafoe wanted to portray the character in-costume as much as physically possible and endured the painful, uncomfortable process of having the costume attached to his body each day so he could swan around a sound stage pretending to be a flamboyant, metallic-green psychopath who surfs on a bat-shaped hunk of future. All three love action movie Spider-Men bring their own take on the character. Personally, I think Tobey is closest to the comic version in what he goes through, Andrew tries to capture the comedy, and Tom is really fun.

Fun Fact: that scene where Peter catches the tray in the cafeteria took Tobey Maguire 156 takes to get right They had to eventually glue his hand to the bottom of the tray to be able to perfect it
@suicunesolsan3 жыл бұрын
The scene where Peter catches the food on the tray while carrying MJ... that was real. It took them 100+ tries for Tobey to get it right, but he eventually got it and that's the scene you see. There were other live-action superhero adaptations before this one, like Superman and Batman, but I think this is the first one where they really got it right. Although it still has some campy one-liners ("We'll meet again, Spider-man!") you can really tell where the MCU got its inspiration.

I’m not going to say much about Spider-Man that hasn’t already been said, but i will say this: Within every movie reaction channel there is always something unique about each person and that’s part of what makes this so entertaining and interesting as an experience. But Magy, there is something so truly endearing about how empathic, sincere and emotionally invested you get in films. It makes the experience of being here that much more special. All the Spider-Man films are good in their own way. Amazing, Spider-Man, and Marvel Cinematic Universe. But this trilogy is the original and though flawed as it is, there is something classic about them. (We have to forgive Spider-Man 3, as it does have its moments. Thank you for this reaction.
