13:20 it isnt out of character, at least not for comic book jjj. One time in a comic there was a flashback to right after jjj hired Peter. An employee asked why he hired Peter and thought it was weird to want a 16 year old taking photos for an official newspaper. Jonah's response was that he knew what happened to Peter's uncle, and wanted at least one thing to go right for Peter. JJJ is a good person, even if it isn't always obvious

Yeah Jonah's a bit of an asshole but he's a good guy deep down.

JJ was responsible for funding Spencer Smythe in creating The Spider Slayer and experiment of the Scorpion. Yeah, good guy 😂
@chrispyfriedchicken96483 жыл бұрын
@@jamespope7669 yea and he later realized he was wrong in doing that after finding out spider-man is not a villain. He misunderstood spider-man to be a bad guy but overall he isn't against heroes. In the comics he was very pro mutant and pro pretty much every hero except for spider-man, with the main reasoning that the other heroes are trained professionals while spider-man is some random dude who put on a mask. After finding out peter parker was spider-man and knew that was the kind of man behind the mask, he flipped his role and defended spider-man

He also secretly paid for peters lawyer and all the legal help when Peter was arrested for murder and refused everybody at the bugle who wanted to publish a story about Peter being a murderer
@andrewplaysagame34793 жыл бұрын
Also, characters are at their best when they’re written like actual human beings and real human beings aren’t one dimensional, even assholes like JJJ. It was a life and death scenario and to Jameson’s knowledge, Peter was an innocent kid. Even a guy like Jameson wouldn’t want to put a kid in mortal danger at the hands of a lunatic.

I love Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, but my favorite live action Spider-Man is Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man. I grew up watching Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man. He will for ever be the best live action Spider-Man. Willem Dafoe did an incredible job as the Green Goblin. Spider-Man does has an incredible gallery of villains, but the Green Goblin has to the be the best Spider-Man villain. I actually think Sam Raimi did a terrific job getting Willem Dafoe to be the Green Goblin. I really can’t wait to see both Tobey and Willem again. Also hope we get another rematch between them two again.

For me, I didn't watch the Raimi films when they were coming out. I didn't even really start liking Spider-Man until I saw reruns of the MTV series around 2011. The next year, I watched Dark Knight Rises. I was twelve and my favorite superhero trilogy just ended. I needed something new. That's when I saw the trailer for TASM. I remembered the MTV series. I loved the new suit. It was so different, but still so familiar. I loved Emma Stone's chemistry with Andrew Garfield. The movie inspired me to start writing my own comics. And that's why my first comic I ever wrote was Batman vs Spider-Man. I know. Cringe. Anyway, going back and watching the Raimi trilogy, I do appreciate the films a lot for introducing me to Doc Ock and Goblin, two of my favorite villains in the Spidey rogues gallery. The train sequence is still one of my favorite pieces of cinema. I'm glad they were made because if not, we wouldn't have gotten TASM and I wouldn't have the love I have for Spider-Man today. They paved the way for different iterations of this amazing (pun intended) character.

I think the campyness in Spider-man 1 and 2 is just due to early 2000s. Had a little bit of that 90s feel. Spider-Man 3 toned it down and really offered some good acting and memorable fights thats aged very well. And really upped the cgi in fights and camera work.

14:59 It also fits with some versions of Norman Osborn being a father figure to Peter before he becomes The Green Goblin. Uncle Ben's responsibility speech is basically "If you can stop bad things from happening you should" whereas the Goblin represents the darker more selfish route of "Do whatever you want with the power you have and don't bother saving people who'll just hate you for it anyway."

We didn't have a comicbook shop in my area so all my superhero knowledge and enjoyment came from the games and cartoons. When we saw this movie for the first time, I was so excited. When I heard the opening theme, the build up as it got better and better before the title card. Osborne getting the syrum and the white eyes, terrified me as a kid. I know this movie came out 2 years after X-Men but I believe this movie is the reason Marvel movies have humor in them. I love the shots of Peter swinging around the city, the city I'm from, especially at the end where he sticks to the American flag pole. This movie sticks with me to this day. I hope Tobey's theme in No Way Home is this movie's theme song.
