Watching the raimi trilogy now i really appreciate how it's not part of a cinematic universe. Like its movies that are focused JUST on Peter Parker/Spider-Man and no one else. I love the MCU but there's something special about these ones that are not connected to anything else. It's kinda refreshing in a way. It also feels really different as u can see a director with his own unique vision whereas in the MCU all the movies have to look and feel the same.

Spider-Man 3 is the symbol of memes that are so iconic, which are the sensation. And it feels so dope that the movie gives us tobey do hand to hand combat with James Franco twice without his suit. (although in the second fight, his suit is shown in glimpse) Once again Harry and Mary Jane are the total villains for being huge jerks to peter, which proves why Ned and Michelle from the mcu should teach them a lesson.

On the part with Harry getting his memory back I always felt like the little smile Peter does was intentional bc it coukd be his anger or the goblin serum showing its effects of influencing his mind by altering what really happened so that it could flip that switch back on to go after Peter. I've always loved these movies bc they were my childhood and watched them so many times I could quote and explain them entirely. Spider-Man 3 definitely fell short when it could've been better and eventually costed us a 4th movie but its still amazing!! Keep up the good work Chris love the videos!!

If you look at the first shot of Brock becoming Venom, it's a sweeping camera move very much like Sam Raimi always did for the end shots of the other Spider-Man movies. I would bet that was originally intended to be the final shot of the movie so Venom could be the main villain in the next movie. But the studio insisted that he be included in this movie.

I have watched the movie a few days ago as well and I must say that I have enjoyed it much more than back in 2007. I was so mad after leaving the theater, especially because of Venom. The fact that he had less than 5 minutes of screen time and being killed off and also not being really the Venom I knew just killed it for me. I think Raimi has planned a bad version of Peter and did not give a f about the Venom character at all. They should have worked with Goblin and Sandman and leave Venom for a sequel, not being played by Grace. Imagine an ending with Brock inside of this church getting the suit. SM4 would have existed then.

I feel like I really saw this movie in a new light after watching this review haha. I see the pre-bully Maguire (cheating etc) was needed for the symbiote to bond better with Peter, yes it was sort of clunky and not well done, but looking back now I find it kind of necessary. Like even in the 90s cartoon, Peter was upset and fighting with MJ before the symbiote took over, Upstaged by Eddie Brock and all that. I am mad that my iconic bell tower venom scene has forever been Topher Graced, but I can look past that now and appreciate the scene for what it is/was. Got notifications on for the next videos man, keep ‘em comin. Love from Canada :)

I agreed 100% about the retcon - I was 8 and I felt the same way then. It just felt unnecessary and if it were me I would have kept the symbiote, dropped the uncle Ben stuff, and instead of amnesia I would have had Harry in a coma after his fight battling his goblin serum insanity (in the form of willem dafoe) which leads into his waking up (seemingly normal) and becoming cool with MJ and Pete and things playing out similarly to the movie with symbiote Pete finally snapping on Harry when MJ breaks up with him. The other thing is I would have Peter learn about sandman’s situation but still with the black suit kill him. And then when venom pulls up at the end to recruit him he can be like “oh yeah he knew and he didn’t care…” and then you have one more moment between Harry and Pete where he asks for help and Harry says no but then has one more internal battle with Norman and then pulls up similarly to the movie. That’s my take on how it could have worked but yeah I agree goofiest Spider-Man. But yeah no as a kid, I LOVED this one 😂 venom and symbiote Spider-Man was my favorite arc

So I just watched it again before this review, and man did you hit the nail on the head. There are so much that could've been left out in this film most of all Venom (who by the way never says "We" or the name Venom, little nitpick of mine). But for me, Harry coming to the rescue was the high point of the movie. Goblin/Spider-man team up was beautiful and the moves were top level action. Had they set this up right, we should've seen Bernard the butler make the reveal in part 2 so that Harry could have all this training time to forgive Peter and help his buddy like he does. That would've been a beautiful arc instead of the throwaway, time wasted amnesia bit.

I have a theory about Peters reaction to Harry asking if his father died in the flashback sequence. So, you know how Harry believes that Peter killed Norman, I believe his mind is playing tricks on him by thinking that Peter is low-key gloating about his father dying with the way he said yeah, I think it was intentionally put in there by the editors so that this is what triggers the hatred for Peter again.

Thats not a theory, they did that deliberately. So its a fact, you’re right. Some people didn’t get it though like 3x films

I can't believe you went all the way with that costume lmao. And the cut of you in bed with you dog caught me off guard. Definitely my favorite youtuber right there. Going to set that as my wallpaper.

I don’t think 3C was being whiny at all when pointing out legitimate flaws with this movie. While I can appreciate people being able to look at a film in a new perspective and forming a different opinion on it, I can’t help but shake the feeling that a lot of fans let nostalgia and, honestly speaking, memes influence their opinion. There are many things to like about this movie like the action sequences and I actually remember liking the movie overall more as a kid, but to me the character choices that Peter makes even before the suit, amongst other things, ruin this as a good Spider-Man film and I still see Spider-Man 3 as a massive step down from Spider-Man 2. So far no amount of time, or memes, has fixed that for me.

Just watched Spider-Man 3 before watching your video. Pretty much had the exact same thoughts even as kid. Rewatching now as an adult, I appreciate for what it is even if it is goofy as hell. Action sequences are badass af and Bully Maguire one liners get me everytime.

This Movie is considered my favorite, due to my first movie I watched in theaters, as a 3 year old and A lot of stuff from movie like delete/alternate scenes would made a Spider-Man/Snyder Cut that deserve, But overall, it the one that people never understood them, but forgives it in the end, that's a real life situation that Spider-Man careful you used it for good, let's if tom tries to do the same

I love your videos Chris. You are so wholesome. One thing I want to ask, do you want to see more Tom Holland Spiderman movies or do you think another reboot. Maybe Even a new spiderman in the MCU. I hope for more Tom but I would love to hear your thoughts.

I absolutely loved this movie! I remember my mom took me to see Spider-Man 3 back in 2007, and the act that it had 3 villains in it made it awesome!

If we didn't have to waste so much time with the stupid symbiote subplot, we could've had a much better developed Harry Osborne Goblin subplot & a much better focus on Sandman

To me the symbiote story can’t be done in just one movie. You could honestly make a whole trilogy about the symbiote. Have the first movie be Peter getting the Symbiote and loving all the new abilities that it gives him. Have the second movie be The symbiote taking more control over Peter causing him to become more violent to the point where he ALMOST kills the villain of that movie having it end with Peter rejecting the symbiote and it finding it’s way to Eddie Brock And Finally have the third movie be Spider-Man vs Venom. One movie just isn’t going to be able to do the story justice.

This is one movie I will actually sit down and enjoy. Yes it has flaws, yes venom is crappy, but through that there’s also greatness. Sandman and bully Maguire shape this movie imo

I am a huge Tobey McGuire Spiderman fan Since I was younger I remember , I was so hyped for SpiderMan 3 in cinema I watched it directly when it came out. Seriously I was a huge Spider-Man fan back then and still I am. The third movie was actually and surprisingly my favorite one , even tho it has some issues and missed opportunity’s. Venom was my favorite part actually. Even only because of the fact that he was pure evil and disturbing in this movie. The suit , the atmosphere was perfect But I understand that people didn’t like him Because he was „too skinny“ or Topher grace was not good , but actually he was good. His Eddie character was a evil version of Peter Wich is exactly like the comics The only thing that disappointed me was venom didn’t had much screen time and the character building wasn’t that great. They should have spilt this movie in two parts just like the original plan was , the church scene were Eddie becomes venom should be the end and the in Spider-Man 4 they could have every villain character a good storyline and character build. My favorite scene of the movie was definitely the church scene where Peter try’s to take out the symbiot and Eddie became Venom. That scene was a masterpiece. It had a dark atmosphere And was perfect.

With 2004 Spiderman 2 being both the best one and favorite one of original trilogy with Tobey for me , i actually still enjoyed the 3rd movie alot despite its problems it had which i really didnt see too many just my opinion but i will i didnt like Venom all that much in this one compared to Tom Hardys version , however i will say in some aspects around the edges Spiderman 3s Venom is a bit more aggressive in some ways and more serious despite i like Toms Venom better and has quite a comedic side too , and nots let get started while Tobeys Peter being in the black suit and personality shifting dark was really entertaining i can say , all the action scenes are mostly with Sandman and Harrys Goblin until they teamed up at the end , overall 2007 Spiderman 3 is still enjoyable to watch
