To be fair, in the comics Venom is undetectable by Peter's Spider sense. Has something to do with when they were bonded together, his physiology doesn't recognize Venom as a threat. But that doesn't excuse Green Goblin being able to sneak up on him.

Not if you actually understood the character. The point of the scene was to demonstrate how much of a sociopath Eddie Brock is. I have thoroughly enjoyed observing the unraveling of the writer. It reminds me of Dennis from IASIP, and how something seems off a bit at the beginning, but in the end you are very aware they're a sociopath and it's hilarious for some reason :3
