Exactly! Lately, many were spreading the thought of superhero fatigue, and I didn’t _completely_ agree, solely because not every superhero movie has been bad. I think that started with Phase 4 of the MCU, and while we’ve had some mid-awful ones, not everything was garbage (No Way Home and Guardians 3 were some of the best recent MCU movies, even when the former was fan service without much consistency). Many other productions have shown to be better than the MCU with superhero movies, primarily because lots of them have had better writing and more ambitious storytelling that entices the audience more. Plus, most of them show that you can still represent a lot of people of different traits (like nationalities, genders, and romantic interests), as long as you make sure the story exists to tell more about the character rather than just one or more of those traits and that you showcase those traits appropriately (not in some stereotypical, non-comedic and blatantly sexist way like She-Hulk).

The ones who exist apart from the main cast: Spider-Cat, Therapist Spidey (Ezekiel), Sun spider (wheelchair), Peter Parkedcar (Spiderbuggy), Spider-Man Unlimited, Webslinger (Cowboy), Maybelle (Steampunk Spider-woman), Ben Reilly, Kaine, Araña (big buff lady with the blue suit), some versions of the Mech Spiderman suits, Spider-Man Unlimited, The Bombastic Bag Man, Mayday Parker (Spider Girl). I don't remember the rest but there's a LOT more I'm missing.

Loved the reaction guys, I’ve been sick recently and your reactions make me feel a lot better. Also glad you like Hobie too. Speaking of Hobie, there is a whole lot of foreshadowing lines and snippets in both this and Into the Spider-Verse. Here are a few that I was able to find. 1. In Into the Spider-Verse, while Miles and Aaron are spray-painting, the 42 spider glitches. It also glitches when Miles finds it before knowing about the collider. This was foreshadowing that the spider wasn’t from Miles universe and almost everybody glossed over it until now. 2. Another thing from the first movie is that when the Peter of Miles universe saves him from falling and discovers that he’s also a Spider-Man. The colors for when Mile’s spidey-sense goes off change from purple and green to red and blue. This signifies that the Miles from Earth-1610’s fate of becoming the next Prowler would change to become the next Spider-man. It’s CRAZY how they were foreshadowing future events even in the first movie. 3. During Spot’s backstory, when the 42 spider transfers from it’s universe to Miles universe, you could actually see Earth-42 Miles in the background. This is another way to show that Earth-42 Miles and Earth-1610 Miles fates were swapped, the spider was about to bite 42 Miles but was transferred into another universe. 4. Before Miles and Miguel meet, Hobie begins taking mechanical equipment from the base. Now you would think he was only doing this for fun or out of boredom, but he was actually taking those parts to make Gwen’s new watch after she gets kicked out. He was also trying to get Miles from going with the other Spiders back to the base. He KNEW how things would play out. Hobie is the GOAT.

Originally, Across The Spider-Verse was going to be split into two parts but due to how the studio abused the animators and production team during the movies creation, they decided that they were going to make one last Spider-Verse movie after this one. And I’m pretty sure the real reason why they released 2 or 3 versions of the same movie into theatres was because the movie was actually not finished yet and Sony, wanting to rush the movie out for money sake, released the movie before it was fully completed. Hence why some of the scenes have different animations or removed/ added audio tracks.

I was a bit apprehensive when I first saw the trailer for portraying Miguel O'Hara aka Spider-Man 2099 in an antagonistic way because Miguel is a far cry from a villain and he's also my all-time favourite Spider-Man in the comics but the movie did an amazing job for portraying him not as the villain but more like an opposing force.

I do wonder how the 3rd movie will go about dealing with him. To be frank, although he hasn't actually killed anyone, I seriously doubt any of these characters would ever forgive him even if he realized he was wrong. But on the other hand, killing him doesn't seem like the right answer. Unless, and hear me out...they combined the two solutions by having him realize his wrong-doings and sacrificing himself to kill Spot 🤔

There was a big push online for him to play peter parker and to just have spiderman black. so in an episode of community (which if you haven't already you need to watch) he wears a spider-man suit. Ironic that a character like that is now leading an organization of Spider-Men.

Back to the Future did it! The first movie had the same sort of "the adventure is over, but there's always room for more!" vibe at the end with Doc whisking Marty and Jennifer off to the future (much like Gwen appearing at the end of ITSV through the portal), then the second movie ended with a genuine cliffhanger (Doc getting zapped to the past and Marty having to figure out a way through it, vs. Miles ending up in the wrong timeline and Gwen setting up a new team to help).

Something I wanna draw attention to is Miguel's whole philosophy that "canon events" have to occur to protect the timelines. He took the place of a deceased version of himself from another timeline and altered the timeline. That's what makes him believe that an entire universe was destroyed because of his actions. The Spider people that fall in line with Miguel just see what happened to him and conform because they're afraid of it happening to their own universes. Miles however sees through the bullshit. He's not willing to just let people die when he knows that he can save them. There's no guarantee that his universe will collapse if he saves his father. Not just that, but Miguel is just flat out wrong about Miles. He tells Miles that he was the first anomaly but that's not true. _Miguel_ was the first anomaly. He was the first one to exploit interdimensional travel to have the life he couldn't have in his own timeline. Something about the comics when it comes to Miguel is that his mother criticizes him and tells him that all he does is destroy, and it's true. In his attempt to save the multiverse, all he does is destroy. He wears the most aggressive costume (talons and sharp protruding weapons, not to mention his teeth), he's the only Spider-Man that isn't funny, and anytime he says anything about anyone else, he's tearing them down. Constantly insulting those around him. His intentions are moral, he just doesn't want to see entire universes die, but he's going about it in the wrong way.

Little overlooked plot detail: Miguel is right, imprisoning Miles was the best solution. Spot is only in Miles' world because he feels powerful enough to face him, he wants Miles. If Miguel did imprison Miles, Spot would've gone to HQ to fight him there and the canon event couldn't happen. Miles escaping is an unfortunate self-fulfilling prophecy.

There's such a meta aspect to it as well, with how much backlash there was to Miles as a character when he was introduced in the comics. Even today you often see media that seems to go out of its way to refer to him as Miles Morales but not Spider-Man. For that reason I do think canon events still apply to Miles as Miguel seemed to think so. And with where the canon stuff is going, I think it's a deconstruction of the ideas a lot of fans have who want every spiderman story to be the same with uncle ben and him being a poor student, etc.
