I really wanted a scene where he makes Peter choose, “let die the woman you love, or suffer the little children.” 🤣 out of all the lines he could have said again, they only went with the scientist line.

What I like especially is that the movie doesn't involve any of the villains offing themselves in a guilt-free way like the Raimi movies are notorious for. Either Peter tries to save them, or full on tries to fucking kill them like with Green Goblin. None of this consequence-free shit

The older Spiderman movies did it too. That was what Tobey's Spidey was all about - forgiving the Sandman, recruiting Doc Ock's help to dismantle the machine, resolving differences with Harry Green Goblin Jr. Osborne, etc. It's quintessential to who Spiderman is.

I felt like Tom Holland's Spider-man has finally grown up. The ending's sad, but also truly essential to his character to finally owned up to his responsibilities with no support. This was my exact thought. I also thought the villains would just be bait/cameos rather than being the focus of the plot. The older spidey franchises felt really incorporated, which really elevated the movie from just being fan service to being a sequel story that brings closure to the other movies.
@royliber3824

@@leinad0504 Apart from Green Goblin which simply does things... The other villains (even Doc Ock) felt like they were all filling a part of nostalgic to spidey fans out of MCU. I loved it that the villains didn't took all the focus, nor did Andrew and Tobey and that it was still Tom Holland's movie. They joined in at the perfect moment in the most fun and overwhelming way there is. To say the least, im quite sad we haven't seen Mary Jane (she knows who Spiderman is as well) but im also not sad about it because I know it would be an overkill to add her. For me, this movie easily gets 10/10 not only because of all the huge returns weve seen, but also the acting was on point from Tom Holland and mostly from the other characters but for me what really did it was the jokes in between they added. Marvel knew clearly about the memes going on and apart from my favourite Spiderman Pointing at Spiderman meme they added everything in. Everything was well thought of, they kinda redeemed themselves from previous movies which some of them were really flops but this movie will be remembered for a very long time. Yes, even more than Endgame.

I feel like nobody’s talking about Otto and Tobeys Peter reuniting. They were so happy to see each other, especially since Tobey hadn’t seen him in years at this point, and it was just touching. The way Otto says “you’ve grown up” and his sheer excitement to ask how he’s been is so wholesome. I’ve always felt bad for Otto. Those arms took away the life of an otherwise good man. I think the first two movies being more lighthearted with smaller stakes make No Way Home's darker tone and bittersweet ending more impactful; other Spider-Men were dealt a shitty hand at life while Tom's Spider-Man CHOSE to live in a shitty apartment and cut his connections from his mentors and friends by making everyone forget him. If MCU Spider-Man already went through the "The Night Uncle Ben Died" then this trilogy was his "The Night Gwen Stacy Died" when he learns that real personal tragedy is sorta a right of passage to truly becoming THE Spider-Man we know and love.

Doctor Conors really is an idiot for depensing billions of dollars in labo and gadjet at Oscorp when you can just use an high school lab. Or why did Electro act out of character for the entiere movie. Better question, What kind of energy gave him such a fresh air cut? Doctor Strange who miss his spell to make forget everyone that Peter is spider man and make everyone through de multiverse who knows peter parker come to their earth 🤨🤨. I can't believe such bs. Electro doesnt even know Peter Parker. He only know Spider man. Why did the Peter of Tobey Maguire was thinking of a remede for the green goblin. Its been 20 years that the goblin is dead in his univers. Is that all have to do Spider man? And don't get me started on Ned using magic.

I LOVED what they did for Spider-Man’s origin story. Started off as the dorky teenager with great potential, to ending it with a young man who’s basically lost everything. Really depicts how Spider-Man/Peter Parker is a tragic hero, where no matter what he does to save the ones he loves, he ends up losing them. And it really hyped up the comeback story of Spider-Man. This film to me is the culmination of the lessons Tom Holland's Peter has been learning since his appearance in Civil War. In CW and Homecoming, he was just the new kid trying to figure out how to do the superhero stuff and his focus was on impressing Tony, whom he idolized. By the end of Homecoming he realized he still had a lot to learn and wasn't ready to be a full-fledged Avenger yet. In Infinity War + Endgame he got caught up in things much bigger than himself, and he knew it. But, he also knew he needed to do his part, and so he followed the lead of all the more experienced heroes and offering support. Then, he watched as the man he looked up to the most made the sacrifice play- giving his life, giving up the happiness he could have with his wife and child, to save everyone. And this hit him *hard*. In Far From Home, he felt once again like he was getting caught up in things much bigger than himself, but this time without Tony's guidance. He felt incapable of living up to the legacy of Iron Man that he inherited, and so he tried several times to leave the issues to people more capable than him, but they were all either off-world or otherwise unable to assist. He rejected his responsibility and naively trusted a complete stranger who had tricked him. He was able to correct this mistake, and things nearly worked out- but one more trick turned his life upside down when they revealed his secret identity. And here, in No Way Home, Peter tried to find a way to get things back to the way they were, and sought the help of a friend who has power that he did not fully grasp the magnitude of, and ends up botching the spell which causes even more chaos and destruction in his world and life. He saw the tragedy of these people from other universes, and while he wanted to go along with Dr. Strange's plan to just put them back where they were and resign them to their fates, Aunt May reminded him of what he already knew, that he has the capability to help them, and thus the responsibility to at least try. So, he became his own hero, standing up for his own beliefs, even against someone he looks up to because he believes what he is doing is right. He didn't just blindly trust these strangers, having given the cube to MJ and Ned as a contingency if things went wrong, which, of course they did. And he realized that the only way to fully right the wrongs he caused was to follow the example that Tony made for him: sacrificing his own life and happiness for the good of everyone else. That is the moment that, to me, marks this Peter as having become a fully realized Spider-Man. The tragedy of the hero who can never have it all.

The scene when Toby stops Tom from killing Defoe is so powerful and so emotional for me. The oldest and wisest Peter tells the youngest and still hurting Peter that he doesn’t have to let his loss stop him from being the hero he’s meant to be. It’s like all 3 of the movies I grew up with are passing down the torch. I’ll never see that Peter against but he helped our new one define the Spider-Man he will become. It’s beautiful.

Same here. I love the time they took to show us glimpses at not only their similarities, but their differences. And yet ultimately outside of the ending, they did. 90% of the people who went to watch the movie weren't there for Tom Holland's Spider-Man's character development but to have their nostalgic wank fantasies satisfied. It feels like that time the STH movie changed Sonic's design out of witnessing what the fans had to say, it feels like nostalgia fiddling disguised as "well May died so who better of a mentor than another Spider-Man? hell let's add two" - this part strikes me as clever manipulation. All that aside though don't get the wrong idea. The movie was lovely and emotional; loved the villain interactions and character development (less for Sandman and Lizard in particular but still nonetheless) - I just feel the movie is mildly overrated in some aspects.

But the one scene that had me on my toes was when all the enemies were circled around Peter and his Spidey-Senses were going off and he just couldn't figure out who it was at first, but then he found out and instantly webbed Goblin's hand down cuz he was able to realize it was him. They're still full characters with full impact and importance for Holland's overall character arc. It's really quite impressive. I don't think I've seen anything done like this before.

I love how Andrew’s Spider-Man sort of feels like he’s picking up not far from where TASM2 left off, while Tobey’s is an older Spider-Man who is farther removed from his movies. I don’t know if that was intentional or maybe I’m just crazy. I’ve only seen it once so far, but that’s what it felt like to me. Sort of like it wasn’t just the multiverse, but different times within the multiverse. Which would make sense since Andrew’s story ended prematurely.

@@chocolatemilk679 Yeah Tobey is 46 now I didn’t realize just how old he was for Spider-Man. They had to make him older or else it would’ve just fucked with the suspension of disbelief I think. He was very much like Peter B. in SM:ITS. Andrew definitely didn’t seem like a whole ass man past his mid-life crisis but certainly was past his early 20s cuz he talked about how he eventually stopped pulling his punches (which I would love to see in a movie a la Otto breaking Scorpion’s jaw in the comics) It kinda seemed like a progression. We have the old wisened Spider-Man that’s probably on the verge of retiring with Tobey, we have Spidey that’s just starting to settle down in life with Andrew, and we have young Spidey that’s about to embark on his life with Tom. Just saw this yesterday and thought it was great. I love how there’s some meta-commentary on Andrew being the “lame” Spidey and how Tobey hypes him up. Tom labeling himself as 1, Tobey as 2 and Andrew as 3 got a giggle out of me because of the reminder of how people love to rank the different Spidermen. I’m also not sure if this was intentional, but the comment of being a “good looking kid”from Electro towards a 38 year old Andrew Garfield was hilarious to me in particular. Tom always stood out as the most teenage Spider-Man in a way. He always had the most guidance and support from others. Now that he’s lost everything and is back to basics, he really is on the same level as that status-quo for Spidey has always been. Not to mention the tie in that this movie happens because of everyone knowing Peter Parker is Spider-Man, and ending with everyone knowing Spiderman but nobody at all knowing Peter Parker. He quite literally is only known through his hero identity. Not going to college (note the GED study guide when he moves into his shitty apartment), nobody to vent to about hero stuff anymore, nobody to remind him that he’s a person and not just a superhero. It’s a harsh push of Tom’s Peter into adulthood that I find super interesting. Also love that Tobey is confirmed to be the grown up Spidey who somewhat has his life together whereas Andrew and Tom are still variations on the theme of chaotic, anxious/awkward teenager.

Tom’s face when he was carrying that glider over to Goblin is so badass. And the way Tobey catches the glider, and they both just stare each other down with so much tension, I thought for a split second that Tom was going to start fighting Tobey out of pure rage (Tobey would’ve beat his little ass). The guttural roar that Tom let out while trying to shove the glider through Tobey and Goblin was awesome. And again, the shot of Tobey just looking at him like “Kid, this isn’t how we do things, I’m not letting you do this.” It’s all so perfect. This movie, ESPECIALLY Acts 2 and 3, were so perfect. One more quick thing, Willem Dafoe’s performance. He was a psychopath and I loved every second of it. He was so heinous, so calculated, so cold. He was physically and mentally torturing Tom. And unlike in Spider-Man 2002, he actually goes as far as to not just scare Aunt May, but to actually deliver a death blow to her. I didn’t think Dafoe could top his performance in 2002. He absolutely has. He’s the best Spider-Man villain ever, Molina’s Ock being a close 2.

I liked how violent this movie was compared to other marvel films. Both green goblin fights were so good, and we got to see some Spider-Man combo moves.

Honestly, both the fights between Tom and Green Goblin might be my favorite spiderman fights in any of the movies

The post credit scene with Venom and Eddie felt like they did them a little dirty, i would have loved to see that duo interact with Peter here.

guessing that we wont see Tom Hardy as Eddie after this.

a cosmonaut no number score seems about as close as we’ll get to a 10/10 score and i’m okay with that

I just love how true to character they wrote Toby and Andrew. Toby’s kinda cringe kinda corny line about “curing”some ass is just something he would say.

The ending of this movie is literally so perfect. It is just pure tragedy and seeing Peter lose all of his connections and live in a shitty apartment was fuckin' amazing. That final swing in his new suit was so filled with emotion and I honestly think that it works so well as not only the end to all Spider-Man movies, but the end to the whole MCU. Like, if they just stopped after this, I'd be totally fine (but of course they're not stopping, but just imagine THIS was the final Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. That would be chilling).

No it wouldn't it be good cause their are so many other character arts that aren't aren't finished 💀 how could u even think this is a good ending to the mcu💀

@@hesklairvoyant I think I was over exaggerating a lot. I really meant this would be a good Spider-Man MCU specific finale. And even then, I feel like a lot of the other character arcs met a fine conclusion in Endgame. I'm kinda tired of most of the MCU and No Way Home was an amazing surprise that felt like a solid enough finisher for what I was losing interest in. I hope future movies will quit it with the "next plotline tease".

I can honestly understand your point. For me this is a good stop over for MCU at least for some period of time.

"Strong enough to have it all, too weak to take it," Willem Dafoe was definitely the best. I love how Andrew was revealed first so that Tobey won't hog all the fans and Tom did it again.

I think Sony know Andrew deserved it, they made him star in two terrible movies, and made him lose the chance to have his own franchise.
