I honestly really liked the different take they had on Peter not immediately becoming a virtuous hero. I feel like it seems a little bit more realistic for angsty teen to be full of rage and want to find vengeance, and then when the lizard is destroying this bridge and killing people and he sees that he can use his powers for more than just vengeance, that's when he truly becomes Spider-Man

The best scene of these 2 movies wasn't anything that they tried for really but was when Peter helped the kid out of the car on the bridge, when he removed his mask and came to the kids level and admitted he's scared too and that the mask helps him feel strong, that's THE spiderman for me right there, that super short scene is where the movie was redeemed until right after when it got stupid again

I actually like Peter’s motivation being revenge at first, and I think the fact that it feels wrong was done on purpose, so that we can see Peter turn into the Spiderman we all know
@captainflowers7487 ай бұрын
I personally think the suit itself should evolve as Peter becomes more like Spider-Man the Hero and not Spider-Man the Anti-Hero. I like his costume as he began to search for the killer, he's more of a Spider-Man the Anti-Hero, I like the concept. But as he progresses in his search, he starts to become more and more heroic and changes and upgrades his attire to reflect until he truly becomes Spider-Man. This movie just flat out gives him the suit because ehhh?
@JerryMcB3rry6 ай бұрын
And marcus making it seem like this is a huge sin is weird to me, since Peter's inital use of his powers after Ben dies is to chase down the guy who killed Ben seeking revenge. Granted in the comic and in the raimi movies it happens way quicker than TASM, but it still happens. I have no issue with peter's motivations at first, just as long as he doesn't stay that way, and he doesnt so whats the issue here?

Oh God, the train platform and the entire sequence leading up to it had me almost thrown out of the theater I was sitting in because I couldn't contain my anger. A fucking subway train rises up out of the ground, on what has to be a hydraulic platform and I screamed out, "ARE YOU SHITTING ME?". Not only was this a waste of storytelling and special effects, as the train car could have just been resting on the tracks and the tokens used to open the gate leading into the secret platform, but how could he have built this in secret, away from Norman and his spies, electronic surveillance, and how did he fucking pay for it? How could he have expected to keep it hidden for this long or even manage to build it under the streets of NYC without anyone knowing about it? How did he dodge the police, transit authority, or square the permits without anyone becoming the wiser, in New York? OK, say you hand handwave that all away with rotating building crews, each working one piece at a time, not knowing how the finished product would look or function ala the infamous HH Holmes Murder Castle, how do you explain his master plan of telling his son this secret that could have easily been explained as a micro cassette or CD-ROM hidden within the linings of his briefcase, that he KNEW Peter would keep as a personal memento belonging to his own father, but instead hide subway tokens inside a cheap ass calculator that could have been thrown out, or lost or misplaced rendering the entire thing moot. How would he know that at some point Peter would open said calculator to find the tokens, and know exactly what they were for? How would he know that Peter would link the subway tokens to the secret tunnel? How would he know Peter would even be looking into his disappearance, or that he would find the info that would link the two pieces of the puzzle? Every single bit of this mystery has to happen exactly as daddy planned it, but does so in such a way that every piece of evidence has to be uncovered exactly as it unfolded in the film for it to work. Its so convoluted and so complicated, and all of it just to give us information that WE THE AUDIENCE ALREADY FUCKING KNOW!

I think that "amazing" iteration had its potential like t the action was good, and the CGI and music(Hans Zimmer part of it) were godly. The first film was really hit hard by studio's experiments with Peter's character and the idea of the duality of his life(it was barely touched in 1st film). And then as I understand from many articles and some videos, they kinda tried to fix it in 2nd film, but then studio just decided to make their own multi-film thing like Avengers and remade/cut film just to fit more further plot "potential" into it and more cool fights, and placing things that actually needed attention on the second plan(and killed the film).

Two big things that I hate the most about this movie: 1. Peter Parker just doesn’t give a shit about anyone besides Gwen. He doesn’t give a shit about those innocent citizens who crash by the truck at the start of the movie. He doesn’t give a shit about his friend Harry. He doesn’t give a shit about his aunt who is gonna be alone at her house with no body take care of her because her horny nephew flies to UK just to be with his gf. Most importantly, he doesn’t give a shit about electro. He doesn’t care Max is his biggest fan, and he doesn’t even try to save or cure electro who unwillingly turns into a monster due to an accident. He just kill him like nothing. Seriously, after he kill electro, he doesn’t show any guilt or even mourn for Max’s death. He just joke around with Gwen. Spider-man love interest should play an important role in his story, but she shouldn’t be the ONLY one who matters. NWH really fix this by showing Andrew’s Spider-Man saying Max is just a nice guy who turn evil because of that accident. He even try to cure electro, something he didn’t bother to do in ASM 2. 2. The fact that many people start to defend this movie just makes me so furious. Like…STFU. This movie FUCKING SUCK!
