Totally, like, wasn't Spider-Man originally supposed to be a "scary" super hero? Hence the spider theme and I remember watching video essays about how a lot of panels from the oroginal comic were inspired by horror movie scenes. I'm pretty sure that was also why Sam Raimy was hired for the first few movies, because he is a guy known for making "horror" movies that were lighthearted and funny but also very dark.

I don’t understand why we don’t have more movies that look like this. I grew up in the final fantasy movie era and I always thought to myself why don’t they do this kind of thing for like semi live action anime movies and shows. At this point it can easily be done. It would be the best mixture of realism with the benefit of it being animated and going past the bounds of human abilities that way u don’t have those moments where the cgi looks bad in some scenes because it’s all animation. U do the same thing as avatar with James Cameron. It really is possible and it’s a shame it hasn’t been done properly yet because side the final fantasy movies still hold up to this day as some of the best animated movies I’ve ever seen.
