Not an excuse but we should stop denying that influence is an actual reality. For example, depending on what type of music we listen to, we will feel different ways. So, I agree that we should not and can not blame influencing factors alone because the bottom line is that the person decided to behave as the person decided to behave, but we can and we should acknowledge the fact that humans are influenced by external factors.

I strongly disagree with the way the internet is reacting to the treatment in prison. It's been proven that the US prison system and how we run our prisons have churned out criminals more likely to recommit after being released. Punishment is actually also psychologically proven to enhance bad behaviour, possibly even stronger than rewarding bad behaviour. It's only upsetting that these people cannot afford to live a sustainable life because of what our society has done to our economy.

Trauma effects others in certain ways. Just because you're traumatized and never want to hurt someone, doesn't mean it's the same for others. I don't think trauma is a complete excuse to do these sorts of things. I think she needs serious help and to be locked in a mental ward.

I can never understand anyone who watches them and gets some sort of sick enjoyment out of it but i guess those are the kind of people that are just like the people that some of the stories are about. There are alot of messed up people in this world and we need to stay vigilant.

People who commit crimes like this are deeply disturbed. Plenty of people live traumatizing lives and go on to better themselves. This is more of a case of nature va nurture. I do agree with people saying she needed a therapist from very young however. Maybe it wouldn’t have changed her, but possibly steered her in a different direction .

I don't think you understand psychopathy. They don't feel remorse with or without ice cream. If they are gonna be there for decades, isn't better to invest in a better diet for inmates on the long term? Capital punishment does nothing to make this world a better one. Not even deter crime. And since actual medical professionals cannot do it due to theilr hippocratic oath, the people who do it tend to fail their way through a lot of tax money waste and unnecessary suffering each time. And it rips so many innocents out of this world... I'd rather have her sit unharmed in prison forever than have capital punishment in this world.
