That song is actually about lead singer Chris Barron's stepmom, his dad’s ex-wife. People always think it’s about an ex of mine Chris says but it’s actually about my dad’s ex, who I grew up with. She was actually a malignant narcissist, if that rings a bell. She was a really rough person to grow up with and she said I was going to be a guitar-playing janitor. It was a wild show, they were incredible live, with the bass and clean tone guitar absolutely blowing me away. There was no doubt these guys would blow up shortly, and they did. As a funny aside, my friend's roommates were approached after the show by Chris Barron. He was wandering the campus, asking where he could score some pot lol. Marie Mählich seriously! I was 8-11 during their prime and had always heard of them but never really listened to them. Suprisingly, i didnt even know they sang this song. Been watching some of their video and i really like them. Theres a video on here where they appear on sesame st singing two princes but w a sesame st. message!

Saw them in 2005 (I think 🤔) in Washington Park... I won’t ever forget hearing Fat Funky Booty for the first time even though I already considered myself a versed fan of the Spin Doctors. It’s dope how the WILL come thru your hood and it’ll be like consistently too
