I would do atleast 6 turns. 3 isn't enough to clear deeply embedded dirt.

Been a vinyl collector for many years and I always told never to clean backwards. As the dirt goes back In the grooves, vinyl goes clockwise when playing not backwards

Good review Al. I got the Disco Anti-Stat for £40 a few years ago which is very similar. It's more of a collection of bits which come in a cardboard box, rather than fit together as nicely as this one. Instead of the rollers, it has a clamp with a handle which goes through the centre of the record and acts as the spindle. The handle feels a bit delicate but it hasn't broken yet. I too was a bit concerned when I first used it but it does a great job. I bought a job lot of 600 mostly classical LPs which had been stored in a garage so some had mold and they all had a fine gritty dust on them. I ran them all through the bath and all the mold and dust is gone. The only issues are with ones which have wear, scratches or physical damage which the cleaner obviously isn't going to change. It didn't come with a lint cloth so I can't comment on the issues that you had. The cleaner that comes with it, needs to be diluted rather than used neat, and as I remember, the records dried pretty much by themselves. I think I ran my record cleaning brush over them afterwards as there would always be a few wet spots which dried quickly after being spread with the brush. Interesting version of the songs as well. I'm very familiar with Janis Joplin's version but I hadn't heard Kris Kristofferson's before.

Hi , great interesting vid, just got my spin care, they recommend that you put one of the clothes on the table then use the other to wipe the record , turn it over to wipe the other side of the lp, thus reducing the handling of the lp, regards mark

I was just thinking, earlier today, I need to look into proper cleaning methods of vinyl. I have a lot of my parents' records and they haven't been played or cleaned in years. Nice review.

I bought one from Amazon a few days ago and used it yesterday. I had the same problem as you, it was really difficult to turn the record and the microfibre cloth left little bits, even though I had washed it first. Thanks for sharing the video.

actually Ii was thinking how you could make some unique content related t a vinyl channel which would not have copyright issues. I think would be really interesting if you had a chest cam or similar and the visited different vinyl shops around the country maybe talk about there stock or interview the owners talk about niche and rarities and stock choices etc I know there are lots of little ones dotted around.

I really love this idea. I've been looking at chest cams and other products like them with a similar idea in mind. This idea would make for such an interesting series, and is a no brainer for businesses! Free publicity for them and a rather interesting insight for vinyl fans. I'll start messaging some of my local shops and see if they're up for it!

Was interesting its certainly a far cry from hand cleaning. they could design it so the brushes have a release position. I used to wear white snooker gloves to handle vinyl. I sometime feel listening to music in a room has a much better effect as it allows you to relax better. I think this seems to work better in general you see many You tubers scrunched up in front of a screen. As an example I watch youtube on my plasma screen in which the computer is plugged in. Its good to have multiple interests. I took "Conflicts in the 20th Century" (History) at GCSE I just have an interest in loads of things, maybe you at some point could start a second channel looking at history?

I bought one for Christmas but not got around to using it yet but I won’t be using the cloth as it looks like it leaves a lot of debris on the record

I have the Knosti disco antistat. Wonder if this does a better job?

I've watched a few where the disco antistat is different it has brushes not pads and the brushes are better.

Did you add the cleaning fluid into the distilled water or directly onto the brushes?
@alsvinylcollection6 ай бұрын
The cleaning fluid was added directly to the distilled water and left to settle for around an hour!
@sidfiddler21316 ай бұрын
Thanks. I've seen videos where it's poured onto the brushes.
