Ok, I see it’s ideally an MTB route too. Thanks for the vid. Lovely countryside.

Thanks for watching! There’s times a gravel bike is better as it would be lighter to push and times where you’d be happy with the suspension on a MTB.

Enjoyed your film. We had to postpone last year due to you know what, hopefully do it this year . ..minor point: personally ,the music is distracting .
@AllenBoardman3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks so much for taking the time to mention the music. I was oblivious to what the music actually does to a video until someone mentioned it. The more I thought about it, the more I think I need to concentrate on the music being in the background. Thanks so much for commenting and letting me know how an unbiased person sees it. I really appreciate it. Next movie is edited, but I've been choosing the music for a week now, and still not settled on a soundtrack. I'm sure you'll get up this year for sure, things are looking better these days. Let me know how you get on and have a fantastic trip! Hope there is no nudes when you go! Thanks again -Allen

Nice video. Isn’t this a shortened version of the route though? Most people i spoke to cycle/walk from Corour to the loch Rannoch road then come over the hill to Glen Lyon, then Loch Tay and then the cycle path to Callendar, so really a big part of the route has been missed out!

Great video, enjoyed it. Looking to do this route this year. Out of interest what bag/rack is the yellow bike using? Looks like a carradice of some sort maybe? I like that setup. Cheers Leon
@AllenBoardman9 ай бұрын
Hey! Thanks for watching this - it’s an old one! I texted my buddy and he said “Yeah it's a carradice long flap with the quick release saddle rail thingy. As I recall it needed tightening a couple of times but was otherwise grand...“ Hope that helps!

I know...initially we tried to speed it up a bit due to having to catch a train in Glasgow. There's always next time. Thanks so much for watching.
@andrejskurjat72183 жыл бұрын
Great video! Out of curiosity, when did you reach Corrour? It looks like we did the ride almost together as I was turned away by these people too, and the weather is looking very familiar to me. However, the lady who own this place was nice enough to offer me some water and place in her backyard to put my tent, also there was another bike stranger who slept in the garage that night -) But it was before these people arrived. The biggest difference is that I was running not the time but morale and food, so I took a train straight to Glasgow. Probably, the train to Callander to avoid this silly weather was a better idea! -| Anyways, I'm keen on doing it again when COVID is over -)

Hey there. Thanks so much for watching! Glad you enjoyed it. We got there on the 6th September buddy, but it was a long day. We rocked up around 11.30pm when everyone was already there. We carried all the food we needed and a little more. Moral was good on our side. Would love to go back at some point and ride the bit we missed! Thanks again for watching :)

Was there a particular reason for the train from Currour? Great film by the way!
@AllenBoardman3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we were running out of time and thought it would be a good idea to jump the train. The lads were faster than me, so I cut them loose. I then rode the wrong way and ended up in Tyndrum, meaning I didn't get to Callender until around 930pm! I may as well have just carried on 😆 Thanks for watching! - Allen

@@AllenBoardman we did it last month, 3 of us on MTBs and 1 on a gravel bike. The MTBs were the better option but the gravel bike did well until the last day where it broke. 🤣 Rode the whole thing and the MTBs were lighter than the gravel bike this time.

Fantastic video. What were the 'incredibly difficult' bits? What month did you do it and did you have midge problems?
@AllenBoardman2 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much for watching :) the hard bits were a 15 hour day that resulted in pitching at 12am after 100km over Corrieyairack Pass in the heat 😅 we had a fair bit of midge activity when we done it, even in September. Don't forget to take your midge net 👍👍

great ride and great video! makes you want to grab the bike and go for it! What tyres would you recommend? Is it feasible on 700x42mm??
@AllenBoardman3 жыл бұрын
Hey! Ah, thank you! What a nice comment 🤘 The Brother was equipped with 38mm tyres in this film and I had 2.4 Ardents. Both worked well. The 2.4s were great down Corrieyairack Pass, much faster than 38s. The 38s were quicker to get to Callander. If that's what you have, then go for it! You'll have to let me know how you get on! 🙂
