Any tips for someone wanting to get into a bit of fishing off the rocks?

never turn your back to the sea
@spinkingsyd5 жыл бұрын
For someone new there's definitely a lot to learn. Weather is the main thing. Wind direction plays a big role in how big the waves are. The sseoncd thing is looking at how many seconds there are between the waves. The less seconds the smaller the waves will be, for instance a 12 second wave will most likely be a lot bigger then a 6 second wave (has more time to develop). Check swell too. Some more tips are try go with someone, wear cleats and buy a life jacket. It's illigal not to wear one rock fishing in most places in Syd. Most important have fun and yes definitely don't turn your back on the ocean hahah

@@novo4298 no worries mate always happy to help. Shallow sinks to 0.3m - 0.6m and the long cast sits 1.2m - 1.5m. Benefit of the normal long cast tho is you can sink it down to the bottom so for fussy fish not hitting subsurface it’s a bonus.
