This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. My old faithful (the washing machine, not husband - he’s well past any repair salvation at this point-think it’s the scrapyard for him) started angrily beeping at me this morning with this code. Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to post this video-and for making it so user friendly-all the photos & clear instructions at each point is SOOO Helpful. 👍🙏🙏The only thing better was if you were here to do it for me! Thanks again, wish me luck… once more unto the breach!! 😬🙄😄

You sir are a godsend. Thank you 🙏🏼. Got my wife’s 14 year old washing machine back up and running again. They weren’t corroded but gave them a little scrap with the flat blade screw driver and put it back together. Absolutely impressed by this thing still going for it’s age. Only thing I’ve done was replaced the agitator about 18 months ago and now this. Runs like a dream. Well done F&P.

Thanks for the video, my F&P washing machine had the code 130. Found the similar green crusties on the RPS. Cleaned them off the sensor and plug with a screwdriver, burnishing file and some meths. Goes like new now.

Thanks legend! Got it running again in no time! A bit of hot water and bi-carb removes the corrosion, and a bit of fine sand paper to make them look like new again.

Had this problem today and managed to fix it. It did take me to goes though. I've been using this machine outside for the past 5 years. It was originally used inside. So I followed your advice but I didn't scrape the terminals. Someone mentioned using vinegar and a Qtip. I did that and put it back together but same problem. Dismantled again and scraped the four terminals with a sharp strong needle, I also used the needle to carefully close the gap on the female terminals inside the plug. I also used some very fine sandpaper to clean the rust stains of the rotor and quickly did the same on the inside of the housing. Probably a waste of time ? But as I mentioned this machine lives outside, full weather exposure. I'm just going to check if it's still running. I'm in Rinse 2 ! Happy Days. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the vid. I have different model washer than you with the same basic setup. A couple things i did that i think helped mine; cleaned the magnets for the stator and motor, hit my contacts (that also looked extremely clean) for the position sensor with a few swipes of 1000 grit sandpaper, and hand tightened that big nut on the shaft accessible after the stator is removed. My model has a water proof dielectric gel on some of the sensor so the harness contacts were the only part accessible by water but nothing looked corroded. The magnets on the stator and motor looked like they had a few instances of touching so hopefully with the cleaning and the tightened nut there will be less wobble and less contact. That problem is now gone. This model hates being unplugged or disconnected from power for some reason though, so i have a new problem that i have had to fix before but your video helped with the important one lol. Thanks. -peace

Well done. I have issues when I unplug the power and plug it back in too. To fix it, I factory reset the washing machine computer - I can't remember what the key combination is but I just Google it each time.

@@spinningplanet7915 Update - after more use, I had intermittent but same fault, whereas before it was a hard fault. I cut the sensor connector off the 5 wires and soldered the 5 wires directly to the sensor's connector pads. I believe there was corrosion in the wires where they attach to the contacts of the connector. All good now :)

Before going to the trouble of replacing the Rotary Position Sensor unit (RPS) grab the inside bowl and turn it one way past 360 degrees and then the other. This resets the RPS unit and may clear the error code. Try this first.
@zninz53682 жыл бұрын
Thank you it worked but the flat head screw driver just did nothing I just dipped a slightly dipped a cotton earbud in vinegar and gently cleaned the sensor slightly dried it with the other end clipped back in and worked better than before. May I add I ended up pulling a neck muscle and a nerve in my back putting all of the pieces back together with spanner. Thanks for the video 👍

- Excellent victory. 😊 - My F&P machine is in the shop right now (different model) for unbalance problem. I was going to dismantle it and fix the tensioners or whatever (I've done that in the past to another w/mchine, but the phone number of the repairer was on a sticker under the lid, 'irresistible, so they got the job. - They said it would require replacement of the rods, which seemed doubtful, but they know more about machines than I do. - Your fix possibly would have been better, saving me about $220.

I ordered a replacement sensor as cleaning the old one which I had successfully done before did not solve problem this time. While waiting over two weeks for part to travel from Melbourne to Auckland 🪴👎!, I decided to dive into the control box and jiggle the 4 wire sensor connector in and out. This fixed the issue. Always two ends to wiring! Plugs move towards back of machine to come out , not upwards.
