I use the same elastics you do for my dreads, throw them in the dryer when they get loose and they will tighten right back up, been doing it with my original 6 for almost a year and they're still nice and tight. Love your videos, glad to see a new video been a while, hope school going well for you

Love Spiralocks! I purchased one for my locs back in 2016 when they were 5 months old or so, and I’ve had it until the beginning of this year. It ended up breaking in half after it’s great use it brought, but since it’s wrapped in whatever material your Spiralock is made out of, the metal stays contained/ bendable and still workable. It looks weird being “broken” in the center of mine, but it’s still wearable. I wanna eventually order a new one, but I’ve been using those throwback 90’s puffy scrunchies currently.

I've been thinking about dreadlocks for months now and I've only recently found this guy. It's official, I for sure want to have dreadlocks, however; I only have shoulder length hair and bit of growth to do before I can have long dreads. But, I think I will start now and do the natural way and by the time (1 - 2 years from now) I have longer hair to have dreads similar to his, I will have good mature dreads.

Love mine! Had them just over a year or so now. I also have two and no longer use anything else to tie my locks back with. Glad you finally gave them a go and seem as happy as I was when I got mine. :)

Spiralocks are a great company too! Women in a small village in Gunu make a lot of them and buying them help support these women so they can buy things like a stove and other necessities to live :)

I used to use the elastic ones, but they kept breaking on me and that was not good while I was shooting a rifle In a competition. So I cut out some leather to the thickness of my hair and the it together with another peace if leather and that has worked. This looks good to though, thank you I think I'm ganna try it. Love your videos!

I use these plastic Slinky looking hair ties for medium hold by goody. I really like them I've been using them for about a year since I started my dreads. I recommend them. They're like $5 for a pack of 3 but they last forever
@dropj36 жыл бұрын
Mine will last for about 3 months. 2 broke in the last halve year (the wire breaks). They are great though. Best thing I've found to wrap my locs together

I have a few of them but I don’t use them very often. I like them, but I either wear my dreads up in a bun that holds up by itself or I wear my dreads down. They are good for holding up a cool high pony tail though.. Spiralocks is a very cool company .. they made me a custom one with colors I picked out & they have lots to choose from as well.. any color combo or fabric you can dream up & they will make for you. Plus, they are super friendly too! 😊

Honestly for me I prefer to fold over a bandana in the style people do to tie around their forehead. It allows me to hold my hair back for hours, and it can still be as tight or as loose as I want it to be. Any style you want as well, and cheap, and washable! Just start from over, wrap around both sides back to underneath and tie. If there is enough material left, wrap it back on top and tie a second time.

I love how you say Greetings, Salutations. I used to say Greetings, Salutations, Felicitations & All Hail to my friends father a long long time ago so you bring back fond memories with your intro. How about adding Felicitations & All hail to your intro? Maybe not? It is probably not the right time for the latter....But it is so cool how connected we all are xx

Can you tie your hair up using this? like a top bun? I have my dreads on a bun almost all the time and was wondering if this is only for tying it down the back
@LazyDreads6 жыл бұрын
I'd imagine you can do more with it, but I've never managed to tie an even vaguely half decent bun, so I haven't tested that out.
@calycalyps04 жыл бұрын
I use these hairbands that you like.. wear on your forehead? So they arent meant for putting your hear up just keep your hair out of your face. It doesn't wear out, i wrap it 3 times. Just a tipp from me since you can get those in alot of stores for less money
@sleepysloth15046 жыл бұрын
Do you tie your dreads with other dreads sometimes? I do so but I'm not sure if it won't hurt my dreads in a long term. Is it better to just use bands and head wraps?
@LazyDreads6 жыл бұрын
I used to do it more when my dreads were at their longest, and I still do when I'm just being lazy - but I find that the tied up ends will usually stick out at random angles and the roots of the tying dreads will ache after a while. For regular/all day/work I will therefore use something else to tie them up.

On Etsy, right? They might make them again if you ask them, they're very helpful! It depends on if they can get the right fabric for it. I loooooove Spiralocks, I wear them constantly in summer (in autumn/winter I use Dreadbag caps more). Only trouble is that I love all the different colours & materials, so I end up buying more every time I visit their shop...

My twist and rip dreads are only a few weeks old and they keep trying to lock up together and combine. I'm always ripping up hair to separate them. Do you have any suggestions?
@LazyDreads6 жыл бұрын
When they're young they'll always be knotting into each other. You can't stop them from knotting into each other, you just have to keep separating them until they get older - even mature dreads will still need some separating however.

I had an awesome Spiralock for over a year, paid $35 for it, and then one cold, snowy, winter day our little family went to a walk-through Christmas lights display at a zoo and I was wearing it. But it qas cold, so I wanted to put my hood up, which meant I had to take my dreads down. So I put the Spiralock on my wrist. On the drive home (this place was over an hour away) I realized my Spiralock was gone!!!! *SOBS* I was so mad and upset!!! I tried multiple times to contact the zoo to see if anyone found it and I never heard anything from them. *SOBS AGAIN* So yeah, that is my Spiralock sob story. It really does suck when you lose one. ☹ I need to buy myself a new one, but I want a longer one this time...which means more $$$ So I haven't had the money to dish out for it yet *sigh*

Why dont you just use one of your dreads to tie your hair up
@LazyDreads6 жыл бұрын
I used to, when my dreads were longer, and I still do when I'm around the house. It's not something I do for a full day though as the ends of the tying dreads often stick out at weird angles, and the roots of the tying dreads become uncomfortable when they're pulled on for extended lengths of time.
