Unpopular opinion but I really found Rotoscope to be way better. This one only builds up during the end really.

Eternal Blue was a great album. Great melodic tracks that know how to get heavy, but holy shit this EP goes so fucking hard. This song in particular is super melodic but god damn that breakdown might be the heaviest Spirit box has ever been. It goes so fucking hard.
@primebreaker66282 жыл бұрын
Apart from iwrestledabearonce Courtney, I have to agree on that. Top 3 most likely. It's the emotion she channels with her screams that really push songs like this over the top. You can tell that lyrically the three songs are connected and they're important to her.
@SpaceTacoTV2 жыл бұрын
i do believe from a Q&A that Courtney did on twitter that Mike programmed the drums for these, sent them over to Zev who kinda added his own flair to them and then recorded them live
@DavidRiehl7562 жыл бұрын
I agree in that I like this EP more than some of the songs on Eternal Blue. I’ve had it on repeat ever since it came out. Also. The Night House was pretty good. I felt like it went on a little too long for me, but it was good nonetheless. And apparently, it was filmed in Syracuse, NY, which I live near.

The Night House is a trip and a half. And yeah, the entire EP is such an experience and while a lot of it is very different, there's the imprint of what makes Spiritbox such a wonderful and wonderfully accessible band on every ounce of it. Every 28.35 grams of it, for all the fellow mother Canuckers lol

It is tough choice but I would say Rotoscope. It’s uniqueness and the that I love about it, though I still like the mood of Hysteria. Very mellow. The Night House

They're heading in a really good direction. I love how mature this stuff sounds already, Sew Me Up in particular, and Eternal Blue feels like it released last week. I think they can evolve their sound without turning off a lot of people, which after 20 years of Thrice, I thought was impossible. Thrice evolved considerably between albums and some of them were misses all the way down the booklet for me, but Spiritbox never fails to deliver strong core tracks that I keep coming back to. Maybe it's the safe approach? Maybe it comes natural? I don't care - The future of this genre is quite bright.

The Night House. Loving Spiritbox. While, Hypa Hypa from Electric Callboy got me into the metal scene (as a launching piont), it's Spiritbox, who came quickly after, that cemented me to the genre. Still loving Rotoscope more, but this was a banGer too.

The Night House I l absolutely loved this song, and not just for the breakdown. Funny enough, I was expecting a very cheesy major key change in the chorus like so many other bands are doing these days. Mentally prepared myself to cringe. BUT! As always, the songwriting stayed top-notch without any lame gimmicks that don’t fit the song.

The nighhouse. I was not a fan of Rotoscope's straightforward rock sound, but this calmed my concerns that Spiritbox was going off in a totally different direction. I'm more of a fan of heavy stuff, but the mood in the first half of the song was so cool I didn't mind how long it took to get to the breakdown, which was great too. This is never going to be my favorite band, but overall I still like what they're doing

Hysteria to me sounded a lot like arkangel by thornhill some parts did.
@nomeru_02 жыл бұрын
cant really get into any of these new songs, i feel like they kinda ditched the "technical" side of their music in favor of straight pop/rock, instead of combining both like on EB. They do the pop/rock alternative sound very well but it just does nothing for me when there's nothing else to latch onto.

Spiritbox is so hit or miss for me. I either love a song from them or hate it...no in-between. Love this one, hated the last one 🤷♂️

Hysteria is my LEAST favorite of the 3 and I know that is an unpopular statement. Its just boring to me - not catchy at all. Chorus falls flat. The only thing semi interesting is the breakdown and yet it goes on for like a minute and I get bored of it 😅
