This is the first time I see a Yu-gi-Oh deck in this game that looks like an actual deck since Relinquished, and it looks extremely solid in general as well. Hope Duel Links keeps going this way because it's fun to watch :D

Been waiting to see a decent spirit deck in action, much appreciated. Also, not sure if this has been said yet, but destiny draw activates each time they take a total of 2000 lifepoints of damage, not once they drop to 1000.

Shady, Trap Jammer can only activate in the Battle Phase. If your opponent activates a card in the Draw or Main Phase, you can't counter it. Keep that in mind both when you have Trap Jammer or when you're afraid of your opponent having Trap Jammer.

Been using spirits myself, I've noticed that games will either go incredibly well or incredibly badly, and often the deck is forced to set monsters just to avoid being attacked directly every turn. Needing to have so many combo pieces (Power Spot + Mirror + Crane) within the first few turns is pretty much essential and that leaves the deck with very little room for actual protection or disruption cards. Cutting down on the spirits helped a lot (I dropped Otohime, Rabbit and 1 Susa Soldier) but even then I struggled getting to Gold 1 which is crazy.

Have you considered running Des Counterblow in this deck? Since spirits leave your field open, when people inevitably attack you directly when you do not have a spirit with a mirror on the field, you can blow up whatever attacks you directly by using it. I've seen Destiny Draw builds use it, but I think it MIGHT work in this deck, though it's a dead draw if you draw it late.

@Shadypenguinn I suggest adding a orb of yata because if your spirit monster destroys an opponets monster you gain the opponets monsters attack, and when your spirit goes back to your hand orb of yata does as well

I have a question shady, what happens if you use mystic boxes and you give control of a spirit mon to your opponent, will return to your hand at the end of the turn? If so, mystic boxes could be a good addition imo.

Lol, and yes, Dark Magician Girl was always that way, but easy enough to forget due to the somewhat lack of use of Magician of Black Chaos. And I agree, it was awesome in the anime, helped him beat Pegasus's OP Thousand-Eyes Restrict - incorrectly of course lol.

#BudgetDeck : Mako with Mythic Depth. Cards : 3x High Tide Gyojin , 3x Unshaven Angler , 3x Vermins , 3x De spell , 3x Trap Jammer , 2x Sanga or Suijin , The last three slots are choice i would recommend Needle Sunfish and 2x Star Boy. I made this deck mainly cause traps and spells are just pain to deal with. The main base for the deck is made out of rare and common cards.

Actually in a 20 card deck you have a 1/20 chance of getting any 1 card. So with this 20x5=100 and 1x5=5 so their is a 5% chance of drawing the card. You can multiply this by 3 since you run three of the card for 15% chance of drawing one of the 3 cards. Since your opening hand is 4 cards the probability would be like 3/20 3/19 3/18 3/18 multiply this to find the probability of not drawing one of the three cards in the opening hand and subtract from 1 to find the probability of having at least one of the cards in your opening hand.

Spirit deck is just really depends on your back row which kinda kills all your defense cards i guess a field spell that allows you to keep your spirit monster on a price would be good other than that spirits for me are just support rather than engine.

Destiny draw triggers at 2000 damage not under 1000 life points. It works really well with Javelin.

I tried this deck a few days ago, and its just not great.. You can run it with harpies hunting ground relinquished, shino birds and power spots as a tutor, which is a nice touch.

shady I really hope you read this comment so you finally know why you can't activate trap jammer sometimes. The card text says it can only be activated during either player's BATTLE STEP only. You can't use it on any trap that's activated in the draw or main phase.

Destiny draw is actually triggered when you fall below 2000LP, not 1000. It's easy to get around if you know they have it, but if you accidently attack too many times yer basically fuqed. Most Destiny draw Yugis run mirror wall anyway just so they can pay for it and drop below 2000.

Also, ditch the trap jammer and add twister or wild tornado. Just do it. You barely used trap jammer at all in the video and it's usually not that useful anyway, especially in a spirit deck. I'd also suggest running sword of kusanagi just to get some extra attack in.

for the spirit deck i don't feel kaiba is necessarily the best character for this deck maybe Mai once you grind out the Harpies hunting ground ability as that field still gives you winged beasts 200 but doesn't boost cards like element dragon also you can run a couple of harpie ladies for backrow control. Heck if you want to be cheeky you could parasite weevil just for funsies.

Don't inflict more than 2000 damage unless you can win** Destiny Draw can be activated after receiving 2000 damage. Of course, if they have apples/javelin etc then they might get it off regardless.

It would be interesting trying out 'Des Counterblow' in this deck because you get hit with direct damage very often

i'd go 1 asura priest (you can search it anyway), 0 inaba rabbit (1200 poke is irrelevant), and 0 enemy controller, i'd rather have bubonic vermin or thunder dragon poly engine or relinquished and sphere kuribohs. it doesn't struggle with traps, the big spirits in defence position are impossible for every other deck to get over, they have to use a Riryokou, Wind of Equata on your end phase if they see the shrine or an equip spell, which is bad value when Susa Soldier in attack mode will run over it next turn

You need a more trap heavy variant. Shinobird and Powerspot will give you the ability to search and draw into your Spirit monsters so a lesser monster count shouldn't matter. But you need more traps to protect yourself... also try Mystic Box. You destroy their monster and get yours back in hand next turn.

you could try to play it in a similar fashion as the weevil deck that runs the Rabbit.... put in some Cocoons as "basedefense" so you dont mind your Monsters returning to your hand that much... after all its unlikely to get 3 spirit monsters on the board at the same time anyway with only two mirrors

Also they're adding Dark Magician of Chaos, not Magician of Black Chaos. At least that's what has been revealed in the games code. Some hackers got ahold of a Dark Magician of chaos meaning that it is in the game. However they will probably add Magician of Black Chaos eventually.

I think Spirits just arent worth it. You have to get too much stuff to get them going and a single etaqua or mirror wall is enough to stop them. Beside that, I think I would cut the asura priests and put some more Cards like twister, mystery box or some defensive stuff in it. Your main Goal should be susa soldier+mirror or shinobird+mirror+pot, also I would Play Bandit Keith, cause then you wouldnt cry having Smith+mirror. also you can get your pieces for the Combos mentioned above. I would also Play 3 mirrors instead of 2.

#AngryShady Whoever's reading this, buckle up, cause it's a little long, and please forgive the spelling. You might want to drop a Soldier and/or a Crane for more Defencive Traps. I'm playing Shinobird Spirits IRL and the thing that saves the deck (sometimes) is Defencive Traps, stuff like , from my experiance. I don't know what you have, but you may want to consider. I really don't play Duel Links, but I enjoy watching you. Kinda makes me miss slower formats of the game, cause anyone else who plays the game IRL can tell you Zoodiacs are everywhere, and they would dominate Duel Links (if the XYZ Mechanic ever got implimented, which would never happen cause that's just too much for this game). Point is, I love you my Penguin, and I want so see you get better at this game, and Spirits have some HUGE potential. Good luck, and keep being Shady!

#angryshady. I think they should add Legendary Ocean to a booster pack to help out a water deck. Mako's deck is really underrated since both Relinquished and Gravekeepers are basically monopolizing the Kaibia even. This way Levia-Dragon - Daedalus is now level 6 and can counter both the Gravekeepers deck and Relinquished deck.

I would just like to say some advise with windstorm. if they have summoned and done all their flips to where they can't flip back and they have a facedown. Then activate it then b4 battle phase in case of trap jammer ;)

i put two despells in every deck you have to with all the pumprincess and auto field spells relinquished balloons id put in three if i had another it is endlessly useful to peak at trap cards and to just throw a wrench into almost every deck you play

I think this is similar to hearthstone, if you have a top tier deck that is built to beat other decks in the meta but when youre against low level opponents who just have random decks then you tend to not win as much.
