You’re the only person I’ve ever heard talk about this “spiritual sensuality” but I think it’s so true. I’m certainly guilty of this.
@donquixote...4 жыл бұрын
You're not the only one... The spiritual pop culture contributes to this. But glad that you've continued to seek, else you wouldn't be here. I frequently say that we've all been tainted in this culture, to one extent or another. We're all supposed to be so strong and confident, speaking clearly and directly at places of our work and worship alike, that it's so easy to get caught up in. For myself, this message is right on target, and right on time.

Why not look into Orthodoxy? Afterall, the Catholic church was simply the 5th patriarchate of the original Orthodox Church as it was established, which fell away. I mean no offense, but when looking at the church history and how Father Spyridon's words clearly move your heart, perhaps it means that you were looking for the depth and soundness that Orthodoxy can offer.

However, in the past couple of years my life has transformed once I started to allow pride and ego to go by the wayside (something I still work on daily!!). Thank you Father, this has been a major conversation in my family, gaining humility, humbleness..that Christ like love for our enemies that is so difficult to put into practice..instead of lashing out against the person who is hurting us. I was called a “Baby Christian “ from someone who is more learned in scripture than I, but from reading the lives of the Saints, I get the feeling it was more about living for Christ and his commandments then just being able to repeat what he said. So again Father, thank you for this confirmation. God bless you🙏🏾

Thank you---This helped me in this way: I don't have spiritual experiences (comfort and feelings of closeness to God) and often feel envy of others who talk of theirs. I try not to feel envy, but I do because I have believed that my lack of comfort on prayer or life's circumstances define God's consideration for me---like he considered me not good enough to bestow His comfort. That's delusion too, I infer. There are very tough lessons to learn in this life, and I often fail, but the only thing that that makes me feel close to God is getting up again and going on. I too am Roman Catholic, but have an affinity for E. Christianity

"Meditation" is also a Christian concept. Many meditate on Scripture, many pray meditatively. Meditārī is the Latin root, which takes on meanings such as "to reflect on", "to study", "to practice" The Bible even mentions meditation multiple times. In the Psalms it's just under 20 times, Joshua 1:18 uses the word, there are many other examples. There is even the hesychastic approach to prayer. I would be careful to call meditation "new age".
@leulgossaye65824 жыл бұрын
@@therese4089 Correct, But one should clearly be aware that as soon as he/she gets involved in meditation he/she entered into the spiritual zone, if you don't have the proper intentions lacking spiritual vigilance it's easy to get lost. Also, the meditation that is prevalent and thought today is the new age version that is an offspring of Hinduism and Buddhism,.

Meditation is written of in the Bible/scriptures. What kind of lies are you spreading satan? Yoga is maintain good health of the vessel God gave you. What kind of lies are you spreading satan? The law of attraction is True and God is the Way, the TRUTH and the Light/Life. What kind of lies are you spreading satan? You fail to acknowledge how attempting to have a personal relationship through a third party like this man "preaching" is most certainly your downfall and anyone else who substitutes a real personal relationship with God for that of a sinful man.

I unknowingly went to a free “reiki” session meeting and the practitioner did reiki on everyone who attended. I was seated and the practitioner passed her hand above my body. After we were told to “meditate” and I saw a “spirit guide” appear in my minds eye, “he” looked like what people commonly refer as the “Pleiadians” and he told me that I “am love”. It felt very peaceful and he told me his name was Astiroth. I’m pretty sure this isn’t something of God, I’ve only “spoken” to “him” a couple of times since then but he always says comforting things that feel peaceful. It was a weird experience.
