Is stillness something that can be agreed or disagreed upon? How about Silence? That said, setting aside the universal truth to which John points us, I also sometimes find his Biblical framing to be unnecessary, even a stretch. On the other hand, it seems so much of John's strength comes from his faith and identity as a Christian, so in some sense I wouldn't want it any other way. It does make me more apprehensive sharing these clips with family and friends who may believe I'm trying to indoctrinate them, or have myself converted to Christianity.

At last some critical comments.I thought I was in a minority of one.I keep coming back because I find John's voice addictive but some of what he says can hardly be described as positive and it cirtainly dosen't always cheer me up.Sometimes it's better to go for a run.✌️

The best video to date for every reason. Sound quality is spot on. You often refer to the real work of meditation. Without meditation the real work is to stay grounded and to be the best of yourself as possible and not to judge others. Seems impossible, really. I do love listening to your voice and to your worldly wisdom. Life is so uncomplicated without the ego.

Thanks for another chance to experience your presence and thoughts John (and Phil!). Might you do videos again like so many of last year... Answer letters, or short talks on various topics? I found those some of the best insights into life and your experiences. Stay well, thank you for your efforts and time.

Well, you hadn‘t come on my feed for sometime. I clicked in and lo and behold, your topic hit deep. I usually dont have mean thoughts honestly BUT today, I had surplus and rather spiteful ones at that. I was shocked at myself, asked forgiveness from above but struggled to forgive myself. I will focus on not making superfacial, mean judgements about others. (Ok, I am ill and a little grumpy, I will do better to think genuinely kind thoughts in the future)💕🌺

I would be interested to hear John's thoughts on the Gurdjieff-Ouspensky teachings - to what extent has he been influenced by these figures? I hear echoes of 'the Work' in John's talks, which is why I ask.

That dementia comment was very disrespectful. Dementia is not a blessing and it was very difficult to hear you say you love her more now that she has dementia
@clementattlee69843 жыл бұрын
Your wife doesn't talk of 'I' anymore because her dementia has robbed/is robbing her of her identity and place in the world. If she's not at this point already, she will eventually spend every day terrified because not only will she not remember who she (or anyone else) is, she won't remember that she's forgotten either. It's the most awful disease, there is nothing care-free about it. You seem like an otherwise nice man but you don't half come out with some nonsense at times.
@FudgeTheFurry3 жыл бұрын
I have s tendency to agree with you here, Clement. Then I remind myself, John is human and a sinner like us all... Sometimes his perceptions miss the mark. Nobody is perfect apart from God.
@mikefoster52773 жыл бұрын
I'm certainly no expert on dementia, but John did mention that his ex wife, like himself, has previously done lots of spiritual 'work' during her lifetime. I wonder if that might possibly have made a difference to her current perception of things (compared to the 'average', i.e. 'non spiritual', person)?
@TheGammaQuadrant3 жыл бұрын
You totally missed the point. You’re too closed minded, selfish. If you listen to John, it’s about openness, and oneness.
@robwainman54213 жыл бұрын
Clement Attlee. I too love listening to john butler and admire his pureness. I think because his talks are unscripted, such is the human condition that the mouth tends to get carried away before the brain can engage and i appreciate this to be so. Dementia is a dark point and i too believe as you that his exwife or her spirit are far from free. In fact i was as shocked as you on his comments, as it comes across a little selfish on johns part. I'm sure it was not intended to come out as it did. It has been said by john himself on numerous occasions that he is not a great talker and prefers to be silent, so the odd slip here and there are quite understandable. I too have often in my younger years unintentionally talked myself in to trouble. Please don't refer peoples comments to be of a closed mind.......they are just their point of view. Whether you agree with it or not doesn't give you the right to judge upon somebody. Clement does have a point and john can loose himself at times. Please be more gracious and understanding to others on this page.......i'm sure john would prefer it that way.

WE (souls housed within a human body) have a antenna placed within our human brain. There are multiple frequencies broadcast on this planet earth. If one wishes to receive Fathers channel then we must tune our hearts. Study the oldest records of the True Christ and NOT the one designed by the Roman Empire.
