It's a VMax. Do I need to go on? No, but that won't stop me. Harley riders weep before the might of the V4. They blush at the sound it blasts in their ears. They choke on the dust it leaves in front of them. Buy one and let it take away your pain.

Yeah it was a big thing 20 years ago for sure if your on a sport bike , they would never give you the biker wave as you passed one another, and I can Guarantee it's still the same when it comes to the 1% bikers and Just "Hardcore" 😠🤬Harley only or die bikers..☠ It's pretty sad they have that attitude as if "racist" towards anyone other than Harley rider's, It's freaking Hilarious, because most other manufacturers build better engines that are reliable with more power, The V-rod engine was designed by Porsche for Harley and Porshe designed the V4 "Nova" project for Harley also, but Harley could not afford it and was also Leary of putting a v4 in their bikes that made more power..😆 @@BUILDEMTORIDE

I have a 2018. I got it used in 2019. It had 2371 miles on it. So the original owner did not like it, or it scared the bazeebers out of him. I will go with option 2. Today, I hit 57k miles. 13 Sets of tires later, I will tell you, it has been miles of smiles. I have had so much fun with this thing. You can cruise for hours. Your weight is on your butt, not your wrists, like a crotch rocket, and it corners so good. There is tons of torque coming out of the corners, enough to make a crotch rocket nervous. In a straight line, from a dig, it is hard to beat. It has no traction control, wheelie control, launch control, nothing but abs. It is just you, and the machine. You have to figure out how to get out of the hole, and not blow off the tire, unlike the modern crotch rocket, that uses computers to help you ride. My monster is not under my bed. It is in the garage. Waiting on me.

Thanks Spite. Finally, an in-depth really good normal review on the VMax. Nothing but facts told on this whole review. Especially the fuel thirst and the fun teasing that comes along from your friends. Like, you just topped off, leave the gas station, come up on another gas station after 10 miles of riding and your friends wisecrack and jokingly asking if we all need to pull in again! 😂 Funtimes!! I got my 2014 new and it is still 100% an absolute joy to ride. Such a great bike. Zero issues. It's a super comfortable cruiser, the braking is fierce, and bottom line, it's fast AF!! I could own 10-20 different MC's and my 14' Vmax is still a motorcycle I never see myself getting rid of. Oh yeah, my beard got longer watching this vid.

I remember when the 1st gen came out and I was at the Rock Store in the Santa Monica Mountains when this guy rolled by at about 10 MPH and jumped on it. He left at least a 50ft black stripe and I thought the guy was going to kill himself when he started going sideways. When that V-Boost kicks in you are basically doubling the carburetor barrels.

I have the same year vmax. A new front tire will help but won't cure it fighting you in the corners. It likes to go straight when you're on the throttle. When i bought mine it had metzeler 888's on it and you could roll on the throttle anywhere in 1st or 2nd and melt the tire. Now i have new shinko's and it only spins when its cold. I kinda miss the spin in some ways because it was soo controllable and fun af. It the most fun I've ever had on two wheels! 100 mile range on super only sucks and I'm very careful with my throttle lock.

It's "only" 120hp, but at 118ft/lb, it's up there with the V-Max in torque. I bought a 2010 109 about 6 weeks ago, and I love it so far. It has a few quirks like the linked braking system, and an extremely sensitive TBW system, but I'm adjusting to them. There's plenty of videos on the M-109R, but barely anything on the C-109R, and I'd be interested in hearing your views on it if you can get your hands on one.

That was true for the 1200 VMax....sort of. Even the 1200 VMaxs engine was heavily updated from the royal venture (a nice tourer btw). The 1700 Vmax like the one tested here is a total different bike.

What road is this? I can tell it's near where I live. It looks similar to LCR in terrain and scenery, but maybe south?

Love the VMax Spite, have got a 85 OG custom 1200, 18mpg, only other bike that turns the earth is not the Busa but the later 309kg Rocket 🚀 3 , down on top end power to VMax tho … and arguably to lesser extent the BMW K1300, Diavel, ZH2, M1800R, or MT-01, *gas tank under seat, that wide top panel is all intake

186hp and 121tq out of the one that was on the Dyno before me....ONLY things done were 91 pump fuel, header back exhaust, flash, and filter box mod. Thing made 90hp extra in some areas due to oem rstrictions!! Shit was WILD to see and made me want one instantly. My R1 is cool and sounds even better but a v4 cruiser, with near 190whp is awesome too

Had an 09 it was an incredible bike. Only complaint was 5 gears. It really needed a 6th gear. I think would have helped with mpg. The clutch/transmission was phenomenal at shifting. So fast for a heavy bike.

When a bike is out of balance it could be your front tyre for sure but dont forget about the forks a lot of people dont realize you can get an imbalance in those as well.

If you know about the intake and fuel delivery system on this motor then you can understand the low to midrange power of the VMax. The physical appearance was a revolution and the engine is a mechanical monster. At the right rpm all four carburetors start feeding the whole motor. Its complicated buts it's quite effective and efficient.

Harley owner looking to own both. See current owners I know who don't do distance on these and low range/small tank. It'll make a great addition to my bikes. Is it still a widow maker? Will they ever come out with a new one.

Now that you’ve ridden a gen 2, you need to ride a gen 1! I had a 95 & I was convinced that it was trying to kill me every time I rode it. It was a very angry, unrefined bike & that’s what I loved about it 😂 I just got to the part where you said you have a gen 1 so you already know!

how to get around a goofy worn front is to just wack it over past the trail brake flatspots. also extra pressure never hurts. this bike in particular dosent have mutch edge of the tire use.

there was a company that made an extended fuel tank for it, not sure if they still do, also there was a company that made a gas tank that goes in the typical gas tank spot, again not sure if they still make it. a Japanese company made a FAT rear tire kit that used a custom drive shaft to move it out farther to fit a really wide rear tire. the blacked out 2017 vmax is my dream bike, just wish I could afford one :(
