Here in Australia they start at $21,490 AUD ($14,000+ USD) and the only used one on the market is a 35kW (47hp) versions for the learners. Great and beautiful bike. The problem I run into with Aprilia, Ducati, Triumph and BMW is that I don't live near any dealerships. If I lived near a major city, then yeah, I would love to own one. But their dealerships are a minimum of 150 miles from where I live and I would have to go to a dealership to clear a code just to change the oil. All of these European bikes have limited dealerships in the US. Japanese brands, I have 3 within 20 miles of me and I live in a small city in the midwest. Hell, I have a CFMoto, KTM and Husqvarnia all less than an hour from me. Alas, no Aprilia or Ducati so I'm stuck with Japanese bikes. Not that this is bad in any way. Thats a big reason why I and many others will not buy an Aprilia, Ducati, Triumph or BMW. Limited dealerships only near very large metro areas.

@spitescorner Hey man, I love your videos. I've subbed. I am a Tuono 660 Factory owner for about 9 months now, about 4500 miles on it so far. The "hard to find neutral" issue was present for me when the bike was brand new. However, after about 200-300 miles the gears have "worn in" and it's no longer an issue what so ever! :) Reliability wise, I have had ZERO real issues with the bike so far. I do however recommend checking the torque on your engine and clutch covers every 1000 miles or so, just to be sure. They came loose a little on me, causing a minor oil leak that was easily fixed by retightening the bolts on said covers. The bike is an absolute blast to ride and I'm one of those that might make this a "one and done" bike for me.

@@neodurden6793 great choice either way but the Tuono definitely the bike for longer trips. The STR is for sure the more serious machine but it’s more rigid and definitely less nimble in tight spaces than the Tuono. With that said an advanced rider would definitely record better track times with the STR due to the extra power. The Tuono definitely no slouch though! I keep my Tuono at a place I own in the mountains and it couldn’t be more perfect for tight, curvy roads. Hope this helps. It’s really difficult to say anything negative about either bike, they are both so good. Twist my arm and I would choose the STR if rides are never longer than an hour or two (primarily because of the amazing sound of the engine). All around though the Tuono is the bike especially if riding longer distances. Oh and they both brake amazing. Pretty equal there. Keep me posted on what you decide!

The dealer in Peoria (NW Phoenix) was offering the Factory and base at the same $9500 discounted price point and I chose the base for the same reason I prefer a manual gearbox in a sports car instead of a paddle shift - it is immensely more involving and satisfying day after day to match my own revs rather than letting some computer do it for me. Another reason for the Tuono was the more upright riding position. It’s a lot more comfortable than the full-on Aprilia and Ducati sport bikes I’ve owned over the last two decades and I don’t need to be hunched over the tank playing MotoGP anymore in order to enjoy carving up a canyon. I have this exact bike, amazing bike but does have it's issues, fuel leak from overflow after being parked - Aprilia factory fault where they misaligned the fuel filler seal. There is an updated part which cures this, if you take to dealer at first they were replacing the whole tank. At random times it won't start, not turning over, as if the battery was flat - turned out to be the starter relay, I do all my own repairs so know the bike very well by now. BUT the biggest issue with Aprilia is the after sales / dealer network and trained technicians in the U.K. I fitted the Lithium battery from NOCO / IMU and QS then took it to my local dealer and it took 2 visits to get it programmed correctly and even then I'm not sure it's been done correctly as the headlights are supposed to SWITCH ON THE BENDING ASSIST LIGHT when cornering as the RS does at lean angle of 25 degrees so maybe another visit to a different dealer might resolve this. Since fitting the QS (quick shifter) the gear change does seem very smooth compared to without it, does take some getting used too though. The bike in general is a well spec bike for the size of the engine when compared to the litre bikes, my only regret with this bike is it has no hazard lights and the self cancelling indicators take too long to cancel. 40secs or 500m is too long And @Spite the factory has difference suspension / IMU / QS / Lithium battery / 16 tooth front sprocket (parts cat shows 17 tooth) and doesn't come in Acid Gold :)

@shibapatrol8017 ай бұрын
The bike is probably great and all but not talking about its reliability and serviceability is doing your viewers a disservice. My friend bought the RS660 and within 2 months it started having issues and needed to take it in (engine light on + oil leaking) and since it is an Italian bike, servicing it was 30% more expensive and parts took way longer to arrive. Seems the main batch from the 2021 is something you want to avoid but Aprilia didn't really make any changes to the bike itself since then (just honored the warranty and maybe stricter QC) Americans seem to have a hard-on for many things Italian and honestly I don't really get it. They just seem to produce flashy designs that are just not reliable enough by modern standards.

Probably the NK. It's the most comfortable of the bikes you listed. 6 hours is a long time in the saddle.

The RS and even the Tuono660 are going to be the new modern SV650 bikes in terms of starter street and they make great track bikes. Just need to find a way to get RS track plastics on the Tuono.

I love your videos!! but this one is (shite ) you kept mentioning rs660 a gazillion times 🙄 and barely mentioned the tuono 660 factory and you bhp numbers are all over the shop

My RS660 was the perfect introduction to a street bike. It's so well rounded. Just a fantastic all around bike. If you love naked tuono is a great bike. I liked the ride position of the rs660 personally

Interms of performance do it all yes but finishing not so much feel like budget bike ninja650esque

Great review, Tuono is the bet bike in the class, my first pick. Too bad there is zero dealer support for this bike in a 5 hours radius. Had to go Yamaha.

Very good bike, but oem fairing and most other oem part prices are trough the roof, even the damn stickers. You can easily total a bike with just a low side on the track. Its the only reason I regret buying one because parts are just unaffordable expensive.

Is it just me or is it weird to say you are an inch higher with boots. Like yea we all are. I dont understand that. Not trying to be a dick but our height is our height and we all know how shoes work. If you are two inches taller than me, you are barefoot and in boots. I am just confused

When this exists…why would ANYONE ever want a motorcycle that they have to plug in?

Just picked up a cb 1000 as an upgrade from my 919. Not liking these little bikes.

People buy bikes with their heart, not their brain. I personally would get the RS660

Second hand they go for practically nothing... The rs and tuareg quite keep the value but the tuono is absolutely a money loss.

Imo buyers would line up if it will look even remotely close to italian bike. Not all bikes could be art objects, but tuono 660 is just epitome of ugliness and disproportions.

I am lucky enough to have the V4 Factory in the garage but would love the 660 Factory as a worthy stablemate, great for those days when you want to redline a few gears and not fear for your licence, loved this review

My biggest complaint is the price, it’s playing around the street triple price. It should be at least 1k less on the msrp

The aprilia is a brand a really want it when i started looking for my second bike but like most of the people that own them spend too much time on the shop fixing oil leaks and more issues that come up. I want a motorcycle that i can ride so i when with yamaha for a second time.

I ride the other Italian bike, Moto Guzzi, and checked out the 660 and was shocked. The amount of factory standard features, the performance, style, etc is MUCH cheaper than others like BMW, etc who nickel and dime you to death with non-standard options and then charge you twice the amount of money. The Aprilia Tuono 660 seems like a superior value!

The sweet spot of electronics??? Like what’s next??? An oled samsung tv in front of you and a teslas sophisticated autonomous driving??? Jesus it has Everything!!!!! From abs all the way to a wheelie control and cruise control…. I am getting angry and tired at the Americans wanting their bike to make coffee while doing 260mph and making 300hp and costing 18$ and and and…. Enjoy it… what more you need other than traction control and abs…?

Probably because there's better options? Aprilia's reliability on the 660 has been pretty horrible

Why should I buy the imo uglier version of my lovely RS660 for just a bit less money? Also I prefer the plus in terms of wind protection and track bike capabilities. Have my RS for 2 years now and still turn around every time after I parked it. Made the right choice! :)

I’ve got the ‘24 factory. 2,500km so far with no problems. Such a great bike! Whether carving corners or tucking on the Autobahn.. I continue to enjoy every ride!

2500KM is nothing lol.... I've got a GSXR with 67k miles that's still running amazingly.
