In this video, we explore a unique workflow with the Akai MPC and the Splice mobile app. Akai's MPC Live, X, and One all have Splice integration built-in, meaning you can download your Splice samples directly onto your MPC. We took this workflow one step further by using our Splice mobile app to find the samples and then synced them directly to the MPC.

It would be awesome if AKAI added support for "Recently Added" via a Folder, so you could just choose the top files in the list. That's what I'm doing via the Splice desktop app when I use with my DAW & Maschine.

I am a true stand-alone MPC Live user. I use my synths for my sounds, but let's say I'm out and about with the MPC, I can choose to go thru route to get some sounds real quick which is awesome. I actually like this idea. What if you have a client who has a sound from splice they want for a beat, well boom just use this method to get the sound to start working.

Beware! This only works on MPC ONE if you connect it with ethernet UTP cable to your internet router. MPC One has no WiFi. Also USB WiFi dongle does not work.

Greg Serenade sorry for any confusion, you will need an ethernet cable for MPC One since it has no wifi. However MPC One still has the Splice integration in the software.

there is the ethernet link, wifi is useless if you connect it with cable. it must be online just during updates, not all the time...

Do you guys think and MPC one or an MPC live is more powerful? or a better question I guess would be can the live do everything the one can do? for instance will the live get the 3 synthesizers that the one is getting? and will the live get all the samples AV for DL that the one will come with?

they're basically the same machine on the software side. The live has synths, no word yet on the drum synth that was teased at NAMM. If portability is a must then go with the live, if you don't mind having to be stuck to a wall go with the one. Thats the major difference, there are obviously other things but neither is more powerful than the other.
