Sometimes I play in and record the guitar, drums, bass, keys, and spend maybe a couple weeks workin hard on a track, and sometimes on somewhere like Splice I wanna look for a vibe and kinda just sit back into it and got for a swim and see what I find, which for me most of the time is way more fun if I'm honest. Best tracks for me usually come from somewhere in between, working hard but not so much that it feels like work. Bottom line for me is I enjoy making music and I'm not about to put up walls for myself that get in the way of that, it's hard enough already as it is. Similar concept in game development, you gotta mix it up and keep it fresh as possible if you wanna see it through to the end

Nice! Thanks for your comment. I think I want to try combining some samples from splice to instruments I play into the MPC One. Seems like a good balance.

Matthew Stratton hi Matthieu first thx for sharing your knowledge. That’s help a lot. I made my first beat with mpc live. Mixing Splice samples playing the bass and guitare. It was like an exercice to learn the workflow of the beast. So I try to use most of the techniques. It was a € »&#&# process. The more difficult : mixing and mastering in standalone. Loosing the bass in the mix if I go stereo. But I did a beat. So first step done. SoundCloud, Edheon, Hemingway Moonlight. If you have mixing and mastering tricks to share it’s with pleasure.

Been producing music for around 15 years and haven’t used splice so far. I really love making my own loops with sounds I enjoy and resampling those since I have Komplete. I’ve also amassed a massive drum stash and I probably won’t even use most of those samples in a lifetime 😅

Hey, I m a relatively new user. Could you do a tutorial about muting pads and tracks and automate them. I usually build a complete beat on one sequence and edit stuff out to create other sequences as an intro, bridge etc. I get confused with why mutes stick across sequences when I want to use them as arrangement tools. Thanks !
@MatthewStratton4 жыл бұрын
I will see what I can do. After you make the main sequence, make sure nothing is muted when you copy it over, and copy it several times naming them as you go, Intro, verse, chorus,outro etc. Then, start muting the tracks in each of your sequences. You're mutes are per sequence with MIDI tracks, and per project for Audio tracks. Hope that helps.
@fakeisforf28414 жыл бұрын
Matthew Stratton Thanks for your answer ! I m referring mostly to pad mutes within tracks. Like you would do for a performance. Let’s say I have kick snare hi hat copy the sequence and then mute snare, hi hat to just leave kick in that next sequence. The mute will carry on in both sequences whether I use pad mute or pad mixer. It kinda makes sense that it does since ideally they should be in different tracks but I m wondering if I m doing something wrong cause it also seems like something I should be able to do. Thanks again for your time and the work you put in your videos.

Matthew what are you going to do with your AKAI MPC One when you have AKAI MPC LIVE II? Why is AKAI MPC LIve II more expensive than AKAI FORCE?
@MatthewStratton4 жыл бұрын
I'm going to use the MPC One! I really like working on the MPC One, the screen, pad and button layout makes a lot of sense. The MPC Live II cost the same as the MPC Live MK1 did for the longest, the MPC Live just dropped in price the last few months it was sold out most places. I don't know why Akai dropped the price on the Force. It used to cost $1,500.
@blue.sunset4 жыл бұрын
@@MatthewStratton Thanks for your response. Perhaps AKAI lowered the price of FORCE because it was not selling as much as expected. I was about to buy FORCE but it still didn't have an arrange view and also didn't have integration with Ableton Live. Now that it have and how I use Ableton Live I am thinking of buying an AKAI machine like this. I use Roland Cloud and Korg Legacy Collection 2 on Ableton Live and I think an AKAI MPC LIVE II or FORCE would fit very well in my music productions. But now I'm in a very big doubt. I don't know if I will buy an MPC LIVE II or AKAI FORCE. I like your channel a lot, I have learned a lot from your machines even though I don't have any yet.
