When I first watched this show I thought that the Dr. Threw a bunch of animals together and a platypus came out. It wasn't until much later I found out that she was indeed just a platypus that happens to live on the island and not one of the experiments

This entire era of cartoons was super weird. I've always found this show super interesting, but my favourite part of it was the title sequence. It was perfect for the show and captured the surrealism and premise of it very well. The show has it's eerie moments too. The volcano scene in this episode and the episode where Perry gets eaten by Entree terrified me as a kid somehow. I still didn't mind the show, however, and I am glad I remembered it.
