For traffic signal phasing:
- Northbound and southbound operate as split phasing with 3 green arrows each! A left arrow, a through arrow and a right arrow!
- Southbound receives their triple green arrow phase first, followed by northbound receiving their triple green arrows!
- Eastbound and westbound receive a leading left turn phase with a north/south right turn overlap, followed by an east/west through & right green arrow.
- Pedestrians receive a fully protected pedestrian phase for all crosswalks at the same time, when traffic is stopped in all directions. This phase is callable by pushing the button.
Trivia:
- As part of Quebec provincial standards, intersections with a dedicated left turn lane, must be equipped with its own fully protected left turn signal, or split phase.
- Quebec City bylaws require pedestrian phases to be fully protected and must not be permissive. This is done by using fully protected turn signal phasing, "through only" green arrows, protected all-way pedestrian phases, etc to separate drivers from pedestrian movements.
- As part of Quebec City's standards, all red intervals must be avoided, except if it takes more than the yellow interval time to enter and exit the intersection traveling at the posted speed limit.
