Those types of engines behave differently with the cover off than on! So you tune them with the cover off additionally in order to accommodate the cover! Remember that! Also very important do not mess with the filter box or cover you will never make it better than stock !

Those black max motors are pretty solid! I had an 18’ ranger with a black max 150 that would do 64-66mph on GPS fully trimmed out. Hell yeah brother

Must had a power prop. Cause that is slow. Had a 16' Bomber with an 85 Evinrude. That would top out at 72-74. It had a speed prop and 115 jets.

I had a 17. 5 hydra sports bass boat with a gt150 in it. On gps we had it to 73 with nothing but the lower end in the water. Scary as s&*@.and that wasn't full throttle. Sold it to a friend who sold it asap to another buddy of his who sold it. They both said it was too damn fast. Both bass tournament fishermen. I sold it cause I had 4 offshore big cc boats. Hadn't used it in a year. I had a deep v 16 scarab jet boat that did 70 plus.but it stayed in the water lol. A little bit.

That last knife is actually a specialized garden shovel. The serrated edge is for cutting turf/tree roots. Very similar to the small shovels i use for metal detecting.

Lol, jet boats are slow. It takes stupid power to make them fast. A factory Mercury 280hp 2 stroke outboard will blow the doors of a similar hull with a jet running 1100hp big block Chevy. Jets suffer from insane amounts of parasitic power losses. Now if he got a v-drive boat, then he would have been way better off. Back in the day, the saying was if you had a v-drive, you didn’t need a speedo because going 100mph was nothing. The jet guys with twice as much power couldn’t even break 100, so they needed one to brag about how they almost hit 100mph.
