I love the chemistry between the dinner scene . Strange new worlds have the spirit of TOS in my opinion . + Anson Mount continues to shine in this season 🖖🖖🖖 .

when Spock offered to shut the guy up, I hoped he would *zap* him on the neck...

It didn't work very long a debate means he would still need to talk but I'm sure Spock knows how to stretch a point.

Excellent writing. This is what made TOS great. I do enjoy the up to date SFX but I'm really glad they focused on story and writing.

If you're going to talk war and the Art of War...then a logical Vulcan and a Klingon warrior are the best two teachers that you could hope for...I love the way the scene played out as an opportunity for one but as a cover to relieve tension for the others...it was a good episode this one.

I could not get into this series although I LOVE the ST universe. But this actor, the Doctor, he was sooooo great in Dune and I really like him here,….. I’ll give it another try because of his acting and character immersion.

nice how he's "available" to Chapel but couldn't ever be bothered to be "available" for his fiancé T'Pring. What a guy they made him into in SNW. -_-

There’s a slight timeline problem. When Spock was this age the Federation was still very much at war with the Klingon Empire. Spock (and Kirk) were well into the Middle Ages when the peace talks first began.

There were several wars and skirmishes between the Federation and the Klingons during this timeframe. This might be a peaceful time between those wars.

this is Kurtzman et al. They have messed with a lot of canon, characters and timeline etc in SNW. It's likely an alternate timeline.

Because they realized the Enterprise has roughly the same internal volume as the USS Gerald Ford carrier and 1/8th of the crew complement? Add to that the ship running either 3 or 4 shifts and you suddenly realize outside the communal areas and certain nexus such as main engineering and the bridge..you wouldn`t see anyone.
@thefurrybastard1964
@thefurrybastard1964 24 күн бұрын
@@poiujnbvcxdswq Nope, you would still see people in the corridors, work details moving about the ship. In TOS, the ship was made to look busy. And you have to remember that TOS was designed and written by people who had been to war, served on Naval vessels, some even designing such craft. The Enterprise would not appear deserted at all.

This is such good writing, such good acting! If I ever get over my wrenching anti-capitalist ways, I will pay for pair-a-mount-of-$$-on-my-ass just for this character- M'Benga is THE most compelling PERSON in a 'verse of rewrites, ret-cons, and pre-verts. I don't need to engage in ANY "- Wars" vs "- Trek" arguments, having already worked that shite all out by myself once I realized that one had the money to make a pretty show of his space fairy tale and the other used stage makeup and props as guide-marks painted on the highways and byways leading us down the path of our current story, each another of human scifi's many wondrous explorations, suppositions, theories, and stories, NOW given space on the screen once lifted from the page...

In ST:TMP, the Klingons looked as they do in ST:TNG, ST:DS9, etc. The reason why the Klingons in ST:TOS supposedly look the way they do is due to some genetic abnormality that hit some colony worlds, if I remember correctly. It's in one (or more?) of the books.
@JounLord1
@JounLord1 2 ай бұрын
@@ronaldlebeck9577 I'm aware of the changes to the Klingons between TOS and TNG/TMP being explained as the result of a Klingon Augment virus that came about as the result of them using human Augment DNA to try to improve themselves thus causing them to look more human. Just wondering why after STD's Klingons looking like neither TOS or TNG Klingons, more like Orcs, SNW went back to a TNG style with seemingly no in universe explanation (at least none that I'm aware of).
