I don't understand the creative decision for the movie to make him force himself on her. What it to show that he is heartless? That obviously wasn't the case because he took her shopping.

I think it just showed that he was human and a horny guy that let his lust get the best of him there was all. It was to show that he didn't just have all the best qualities at that point already. That was how I seen it anyway.

He's a tortured individual, who's been alone most of his life, an arousing woman near him would make it nearly impossible to resist. And the fact that she was mentally ill, made it difficult for her not to realize that some of her actions could come over as being se*ually playful. Causing him to become unable to resist to his desire. It is after all the most difficult thing for men to resist: se*ual frustration.

So lifting the tram was where things started to go wrong. He should have let the woman leave to figure out her emotions and she would have came back to him because once again she no other place to go.

Exactly. The background music is also the outro music and it gives a very Tangerine Dream surreal feel. So much materialism and sarcastic egotism in the world and all for what. Human values, simple life, family is what life is really about. This is what the music evokes in me. For others it might also evoke a call to return to responsible life (those who have been living for short-term dopamine highs). I hope we can find the name of this musical work and also others like it.
