Another, very badly needed cleanup. Now they function perfectly. There is nothing better than a sharp tool. These needed a lot of work but once they were honed they worked like a charm.

I was very happy with them. Today I just picked up a dual draw knife. It has a rounded draw knife blade and a straight draw knife blade all on the same tool. I’m sure we’ll do a video on that sometime in the future. Thanks for your visit and have a great weekend.

Good to see this video. have a rough Stanley spoke shave I need to clean up and sharpen. If you have an opportunity in the future would you make some comments about important points when looking for a vintage draw knife? I want to look but want to be aware of the cautions. Thanks for your contribution to the tool world.

I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Good luck on cleaning up the one that you have. They are worth the effort. As for a drill knife, I would look for name brands. Anything made in Germany, Sweden, USA, England, Italy, possibly Japan and even Austria. I am definitely no expert, but this is what I would look for. Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a great weekend.

Wow, that is a tremendous offer. I like to collect Norlund axes, but they’re awfully expensive. I am looking for timber slicks that are 2 inch, 1 1/2 inch, and 1 inch. I have a 3 inch and I think possibly a 3 1/2 inch. I am awfully careful, because some people want a lot of money for them. I’m always looking for them to be between $15 and $30 and something that I can clean up. If they’re already in good condition and at a retail price, they can be steep. I would someday love to get a timber framers mortising drill. The kind that sits on the timber and has two hand cranks on either side that you turn with your hands like a bicycle. The ones I’ve come across though have been really expensive. More than anything, I appreciate your visit and thank you for the interest you have taken. Hope you have a really great weekend.
