War Thunder's Goofiest Mechanic

War Thunder sometimes deals with ordnance in strange ways, and nowhere is that exemplified better than with incendiary munitions. These don't damage most tanks, but they do still apply explosive force. So you can use them to launch tanks into the air.

@@TheArklyte Based on both world war 2 experiance with similar explosive sizes vs smaller aircraft and evidence from the russian invasions of Afghanistan and more recently Ukraine it's actually pretty realistic. War Thunder tendency to have planes just disintegrate the moment anything bigger than a 50 cal explodes anywhere near they just isn't realistic. But if they made aircraft realistically tough Air RB would eb unplayable as you'd rarely get kills on a single enemy without running out of ammo, and Ground Rb would make suicide CAS at all BR's functionally unstoppable. The real issue is Gaijin is very inconsistent with how they apply durability to aircraft, though i don;t think it's intentional. The more complex the model the more durable it will inatelly be.

since you said the ratel 90 wasn't bad, you should play the objectively awful ratel version; the ratel 20. it has the same bad mobility as the 90, but with the same weapons as the marder IFV, which doesn't sound bad at first, until you realise you're expected to fight king tigers and jumbo pershings with 7 slow to reload MILANs and an autocannon that can't even pen a panther's side (day 7)

They changed the scout mechanic a few months ago so that if you scout someone because you saw a hit ping, you no longer get the “Intelligence” award (and corresponding “assist” in the stats), but you still get the “scouted target destroyed by ally” message on the screen.
