That was a lovely haul and I ended up buying "The Nature of Witches" and "Atlas Six" because both sounded so interesting. I love the spooky/witchy and dark academia vibes but I'm still a bit hesitant going in to horror though Lianne often really makes me want to read them. And I think I'm a seasonal reader of some sorts, there are lots of books on my tbr that I can instantly link to a certain season I'd love to read them in. Hopy you have a lovely week and happy reading ♥

I am not a seasonal reader, but I have been on a gothic kick lately. Some of the books I have reread, and some are new reads. Most recently (gothic/horror at least) I have finished Mexican Gothic which I loved. I do disagree with describing it as body horror, but that also might be a just me thing. I actually do plan on reading Dracula soon, and I also plan on reading Edgar Allan Poe's poetry soon as well. I grew up on his poems, and it was one of my editions (Tales of Mystery and Imagination) that introduced me to my drawing style. Harry Clarke if you are curious. But I haven't picked up a Poe related thing for so long, so I want to return to him.

I have actually read "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" and "Carmilla" last year. I was sadly a bit disappointed in "Jekyll and Hyde" but I liked "Carmilla". I am a seasonal reader as well. I'm just waiting that we get a few rainy days so I can re-read "The picture of Dorian Gray" again, since with the sun out, I don't enjoy it not as much. Also "A head full of ghosts", "The nature of witches" and "A lesson in Vengence" sound interesting. I want to check those one out. Also might read a bit of Poe, since I only read "A tell tale heart" back in school.

Books📚 you chatted on about that I would like to read... sometime😉!: The Nature of Witches... owned the cover is so 🥰pretty. A Lesson in Vengeance sounds interesting, as does The Atlas Six🤔. Gothic hasn't really been a hit with me, but I'm courious of Camilla. I recently picked up an old illustrated 1960's hardback of Poe for my husband. It's the only book I've ever seen him sit & read in all our years together. Usually it's a Modern Day Drummer magazine, or a catalog for 🥁. We both have our things! 💞😁 📚📚📖🥰📚📚📚

Jack Ketchum writes some intense books. I read one book by him, The Girl Next Door, which is based off the murder of Sylvia Likens from 1965 in Indiana in the US. That novel really made my skin crawl knowing how it was loosely based off what happened to a real young girl.

I've read Head Full of Ghosts, despite not being much of a contemporary reader. I liked it, though I feel the end kind of fizzles a tad. And the very few blog post style bits annoyed me. It's sad, and scary in different ways throughout. If you want some good scary stories, I recommend Charles Beaumont's The Howling Man. He inspired and taught guys like Ray Bradbury, and wrote several scripts for the Twilight Zone. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Not a seasonal reader, since Florida doesn't really have seasons, just humidity. This Halloween season I want to get into the spirit, though.

"Sadly there are too many books to link them properly! " >> My suggestion= if you become an amazon affiliate you could make an amazon idea list into an amazon "storefront". so you make the list. one link in your description {either to specific list / your storefront} ppl click to see the list. and amazon uses a 24hour? cookie so you make {for most items 4%} on anything they buy from amazon that day. affiliate money adds up slow, but with a bigger audience can be a side income in time. As long as ppl actually click your link. I've made 30 cents, lol. but I'm a small channel right now.
@AFrolicThroughFiction3 жыл бұрын
I used to use Amazon affiliate (still technically am one) but I don’t like it as a programme, as it often doesn’t redirect people to the country they’d need to purchase from. I use book depository as its more accessible to most of my audience ☺️
