Watching you and Revalator Alf's videos convinced me that the Sport Glide was the bike I needed. $36,700 later, I have a 2022 Vivid black deluxe flsb, stage 2 performance cam and a few other bits and pieces. Absolutely no regrets at all! Brilliant bikes. Cheers

Nice one Roddy... Fair points... Yes the kickstand pisses me off. I put a right angled stem attachment on my rear wheel which moves a bit and I suspect isn't completely leak proof... The wheels I don't mind but I get your point. I haven't had mine for quite as long as you. Hoping you resolved your suspension woes.

How you getting on with the floorboards on the SportGlide? I'm going to install a set tomorrow. Got a big trip to Scotland (UK) coming up in couple of weeks and looking for ways to be more comfy on the bike. Still using the normal seat, but this trip of 1500miles+ will make me decide to whether to buy a Saddlemen seat or not. **Btw..agree on the Kickstand...always have to be mindful where I stop/park the bike. ***Also I just rode a Stage 2 SportGlide with Torque cam in whilst mine was being serviced..and it's a massive difference from the Stage 1.

Actually Roddy I'll tell you a story that I wouldn't admit to most (and here I am on the internet admitting to it). Re: the kickstand I'll add another thing I don't like. It doesn't have a kill switch when it's out of neutral. My sports bikes have it and the other day I thought it was in neutral. Started it while I was off the bike and it lurched forwards... It started to go over and I grabbed it pulled it back towards me and over compensated. Took a huge chunk out of my shin and put a tiny but annoying scratch on the end cap of my Rinehart 2 into 1. I've since ordered a new end cap which is coming. I didn't hurt anything else on the bike because it didn't actually full go down. However my Triumph and BMW wouldn't have kicked over in 1st with the kickstand down. So I've thought about that since and think it's pretty shit.
@aussiemotolife3472 жыл бұрын
The moral to the story is that with Harley you really need to be on them when you start them with the clutch pulled in or risk what happened to me.
@RidesForDays2 жыл бұрын
Good to hear you're ok mate. I used to own a Yamaha XVS650 and tried to take off one day but the bike wouldn't start. The stand was down. It's a great feature and often thought Harley Davidson should have it on their bikes. Also a bitch to get into neutral but don't get me started on that !!
@aussiemotolife3472 жыл бұрын
@@RidesForDays Thanks mate - yeah the thing is I'm so used to having that feature I didn't really think about the possibility that it didn't have it.

My Sport Glide (European version) has the kill switch in the kick stand. It is mandatory in any European bike. I suppose it shouldn't be like that in your country...

Not being a Sportglide owner, but a VRod Muscle owner, I can only comment on the appearance of your bike. I agree 100% that the rims are a bad look and those bags are not the best-looking ones I've seen and would be a hassle to pack optimally. But especially the rims. You'll like the bike a whole lot more if you change to the set you showed in the vid. Do it soon or you'll start losing sleep over them. 😃
