Chuck - I really appreciate your balanced and objective reviews. Thanks for this timely coverage of the new 2016 Maxima. I have a solid view now on what this model offers vs. the other key offerings in the premium sedan segment.

That is cool! I like the new design too. I had an 2001 Maxima SE for 14 years . Great car ! I am just a tad worried about the CVT though I own an Altima right now for 5 years with no issues . I also like the Lexus ES 350. I can tell that you love your Maxima.

The rear blackish panel area resembles the BMW i8.

Very brave design. ıt is more sporty looking than other japanese cars but i dont like the front grille design. It remind me a carp with broken jaw or smthing similar.

At least now there's a bit more distinction between the Maxima and Altima, but it doesn't change my opinion that the former continues to lack any sort of raison d'etre. As an upwardly mobile professional in his mid-30s, it would seem that I'm the prime target of this car, yet there's very little here I can't get in a cheaper V6 Altima. At the other end of the spectrum, I could save a bit more money and spring for an AWD Acura TLX or Infiniti Q50, both of which would come with a better warranty and dealer/ownership experience than a Maxima.
