Just looking at Top Spin brings back alot of the awesome nostalgia and memories I have for Davis Cup Tennis on the Turbo Grafx-16. But, with much better graphics, sound and gameplay, I havn't been so interested to play a tennis game since, and have a pretty good feeling that this entry into the series is probably going to put Top Spin back into the mainstream of must have video game titles to date. I'm not a big follower of the sport, but just looking at this game alone makes me want to.

When I first bought Top Spin 4, I wanted to return it. But after playing it more and starting my career mode, I enjoyed it. I should have waited a week later though because the price dropped from 60 to now 34.99

i recommend both top spin 4 and also virtua tennis 4 but only in max zoom camera mod,and that is something top spin 4 doesnt have,so you cant say what is best game here,when both are amazing and different

the only reason I like Virtua Tennis 4 more than Top Spin 4 or Grand Slam Tennis is that Virtua is available on PC

3 years to slow but that’s what the difficulty settings are for.Put it on ‘very difficult’ & you’ve got yourself a proper challenge on your hands!V’T’i 4 is still well worth playing in 2020,especially on local 2 player mode!Virtua Tennis games have been amazing & addictive since the 1st version on the Dreamcast!

I had never played any tennis game before but when i saw TS4 go for £17 new at tesco's i couldnt resist and i have been on my xbox for atleast 4 hours everyday hooked to the sublime gaming of which TS4 gives you.

VT4 isn't just realistic. all the shots are just unreal. u can't play creative with VT4's shots If you know what I mean, either it is extremly volly or extrem Djokovic style

Virtua Tennis 4 is great, but it IS an arcade game. I agree on the animations though. They are surprisingly limited.

I just bought TP3, and the controls are so freakin unforgiving. I was getting so frustrated that I quit playing it. I really want to play a tennis game. Is TP4 any easier? Should I just go for Virtua Tennis 4?

I really had trouble with TS4 at first, but once you master the timing, there's such a sense of accomplishment! Oh, and at that point, you can beat about 50% of online players.....there aren't enough opponents on PSN, though, IMO>..

Virtua Tennis 4 is pretty good too. It's almost a tie for me. I find the system of powering up your shots for Top Spin 4 to be very annoying. You not only have to hold the button a certain amount of time, you also have to let it go just the right amount of time before hitting the ball. It's like rocket science just to play a game. But, it's still fun enough. It's probably more realistic, but Virtua Tennis is fun and some people online are really hard to beat at it. It's a tie to me!

I played the top spin 4 demo and quickly deleted it. I kinda blame that on playing so much virtua tennis for the last year. Going to buy top spin 4 soon as it looks far more realistic, especially with all the tennis on tv over the last month

I love Top Spin 4 the controls are solid and the game play is awesome I believe its the best sports game simulator out there rite now just simply cuz of those two things. I mean No disrespect to NBA 2K12 a great game by the way, but this has got to be the best 2K Sports Game since NFL 2K5, control and game play wise I mean. Just like NFL 2K5 this game plays and handles like a dream.

i used to prefer VT over TS. Now, SEGA can push the VT series down their throats, its not fun to play anymore, VT 1 2 3 was good, but the game hasnt changed since. Top Spin 4 is the best tennis game now.

Topspin 4 is way better than Virtuatennis in terms of gameplay but it still has problems with the controls. Virtuatennis was dumb cause people just dove halfway across the court to get to anything and also playing online with laggers was impossible. Topspin has a more in depth playing style and feels more like real tennis, but the movement is still off with you having to constantly press backwards to prevent your player from running blindly towards net after each shot.

@koda215 That is right, but you cant compare Soderling and Ferrer with Messi and Rooney.I mean Messi is the best when it comes to football and Rooney is right behind him, and you said it yourself Soderling and Ferrer are no.5 and no.6 . So not just that you cant compare them by their achievements, you can not compare them because they arent engaged in the same sport.But you are right both of the games need some improvement.

Top Spin has the better gameplay. But I can't believe that it got the nod for graphics and animations. The graphics looks very flat and has little detail. The character models almost look PS2-ish. The animation is damn choppy and is far from how the actual players serves or hit the ball.
