I needed to take off that main clutch nut. I diddnt realize it was reverse thread until after I forced it to the left. Now the shaft and nut are spinning free together. Think I stripped the teeth off that shaft?

I doubt you stripped the teeth off the shaft. You may have stripped the threads on the shaft it the nut, OR maybe you caused something inside the clutch to fail. Which would be a cheaper fix. I would try and put an impact on it, to see if you can zip the nut off. If the shaft is spinning, you should be able to put it in gear, and lock the trans shaft via the rear wheel. Good luck.

@@KnobleMoto thanks for the response. My Harley mechanic told me I need to use the clutch compression tool and remove the tension off the spring. Then remove the nut

What are the dimensions of the PVC, ID and width? The ID looked to be more than three inches. Thankyou

I think it was a 3” coupler, so the id would be 3”

@@KnobleMoto Do you remember the width? It needs to be narrow enough to prevent stripping threads but wide enough to enable removal of the snapring before running out of threads. If your not sure I'll do some research first.
