I was the one who got picked last at football because I was bloody awful. Spent many hours freezing in goal. I remember watching England Vs New Zealand rugby union and saw fat blokes on the pitch. I thought that's the sport for me. I went on to play for 30 years and played a cup final at Twickenham

Our games teacher was just like Brian Glover. We had three minutes to change, God help you if you didn't have your kit. It was sodding freezing in the winter, and muddy. The showers were luke warm and the footballs were them great big heavy casers which filled up with water in the wet and the laces nearly had your bloody eye out.

'We'll be Spurs, so there's no clash of colours' Priceless. Barry Hines who wrote this came to our school once to give a talk and read some stuff to us.
