@@harshvraj loudness normalization has nothing to do with audio quality. Every streaming service has loudness normalization. Only Apple music on android doesn't have it. KZbin music has practically no normalization as well. KZbin does have it. It lowers the loudness of each song, so every song is equally loud. For example when you listen to Metallica black album from 1991 which is very low in loudness, and after that a production from 10 years ago, it will smash your ears as its maybe three times as loud. Dangerous for your ears and your speakers. You can disable this in Spotify and then its like apple music on android (iPhone version has a very good loudness normalization). We perceive loud songs as better quality, thats why every producer tried to master the songs as loud as possible, leading to a decline in audio quality and low dynamic range. Since services like KZbin, Spotify and so on, normalized the loudness, there was no reason to master music as loud which led to better audio quality. So not having this important feature doesn't mean Apple music on android or KZbin music have better audio quality. Its really sad. That being said, KZbin music at least normalizes music which is very loud, so theres at least something, though not enough.

@@Szwagi what you are talking about is not loudness normalization, its dynamic compression. Two completely different things. Loudness normalization just adjust the volume of the whole song/album so it has the same volume as other songs and you won't get your ears blasted. Absolute zero affect for audio quality. In fact since the majority of the streaming services had introduced that loudness normalization by default music in general have been mastered with more dynamic range and lower distortion since theres no need to be ve the loudest song. What you are talking about is dynamic compression and not a single music streaming service has that. KZbin does that for non music related videos only.

I sat in my car in the garage and listened to music for an hour when I discovered how much KZbin music sounds better than Spotify. I cannot believe that this is possible. It's such a huuuge difference. That's why I was trying to see if other people are having the same experience.

I already thought that Regular KZbin sounded unusually good for streaming small files, then I purchased Ad free KZbin and they included KZbin Music. Definitely a big jump in audio quality from Regular KZbin.

I noticed that the bassy notes sounded more robust and defined on YTM than on Spotify Premium even at a lower bitrate. I mostly listen the Smooth Jazz genre. May have to do with Spotify's sound level cap you mentioned. Thanks!

Great video! I’ve had a different experience with the volume. If you turn off Audio normalization within the playback settings in Spotify, it should be just as loud or louder than KZbin music.

You may already know this by now, but the volume difference in Spotify is due to Volume Normalization, which can be disabled in the settings. Once disabled, both will have the same volume.

As someone who had both KZbin music does sound better for me and the fact it comes bundled makes it a much better value than spotify for me. No question the lossless services are better and there is a bit of a difference in quality but it wasn't as big as I thought it would be at least not worth paying for both when money is tight.

Did you turn off audio normalisation on Spotify? After you do that, they get very very close in terms of audio quality, YTM just beats it still but hard to tell.

The quality difference between the 2 is Spotify by default has "Normalize Volume" active in settings, I found the same issue with quality myself but when I disabled the "Normalize Volume" option the audio quality is actually far more equal begin the 2

In my opioin its not better OVERALL but for non premium users on molbie its a more better option if you want to pick a song off a playlist or alumb without suffle mode.

I like KZbin music but just wish I could keep my KZbin video watching and my KZbin music listening separate! I don’t want suggestions for songs appearing in my KZbin video (YTV) feed, and I don’t want random YTV versions of songs (many uploaded in terrible quality) popping up in my YTM feed. I hate that if a video on YTV that has a “music” tag (maybe an instructional video for example) it can’t be played at the same time as just audio on YTM - I’m not listening to two songs at the same time, just a video with a “music” tag. Spotify connect is also very useful when moving music between devices and controlling music playing on other devices (music playing on my laptop can be controlled through my phone on the other side of the room). If you are playing YTM in a browser and open the app on your phone, it doesn’t recognise that you are using your account elsewhere so you can’t control the music playing. Such a shame as I pay for YT Premium so am wasting money really but I just can’t leave Spotify at the moment! Especially with all the exclusive Podcasts too.

another unique feature from youtube music is similar public playlist recommendation. spotify has playlist suggestion too but those are "official playlist" curated by spotify. youtube music suggests public playlists made by other users. It sounds basic feature. I don't know why youtube music is only music streaming service that use this feature

creating an app on your computer of YTM works in any chrome based browser such as Chrome and Edge. Edge is a better browser than Chrome and it creates apps.

I would love to switch to YT Music but creating playlists is horrible. 1. You can't seperate KZbin playlists and KZbin Music playlists. 2. Reordering songs within a playlists is not smooth. 3. After adding a song to a playlists you have to refresh the page to see it.

​@@notjhoanit really depends. When we are comparing the two via streaming there is really only one benefit. As AAC can obtain better quality at a lower bitrate. But AAC streaming is typically done at its highest bitrate of 256kbps. Spotify offers Ogg at 320kbps. At these bitrates Ogg is better. The real benefits for AAC come when with media players, as AAC is compatible with more.

1. Hearing declines with age. 2. The best producers with many Grammy's are old and use old quality equipment and don't care about 24bit or 32bit nonsense. 3. A young prodigy with perfect pitch ears can only guess head to head high quality about 50% of the time. So it's useless. So, 16bit 48khz flac is fine. 24bit or 32bit is stupid waste of time.

Yes, you are totally wrong about it. Loudness has absolutely nothing to do with quality. KZbin music is the only streaming service that doesn't have volume normalization. You should really inform yourself about loudness and why volume normalization is a necessity.

KZbin is trying too hard to become Spotify. They should add an option to go back to the old lyrics display because I hate the new live lyrics display. Plus, the new interface, when listening to a song, makes me feel like I am on Spotify. And there are too much things on the interface. What is the point of the three dots then? So, again, the old one was better. The only good thing they have added is the ability to see the comments and the likes. However, I am still loyal to YTM and will never switch to other services.
