Thanks for the video I broke my wrist and hand so the recovery on the fingers has been painful since the ligament damage affected them too and this is finally helping it get some movement and stop the shifting in the knuckles!

Can i use this for mallet finger ? I have been told that I have ti semi immobilise the middle joint too, like it should be half bent, to avoid swan neck, how to do this ?

Hey bud! So I have a mallet finger I injury from football and I’m trying to play basketball with it..... I recently got k-tape and would this be the same procedure in this video for this particular injury? I know your video was about sprained fingers, but for a more severe injury like a mallet finger what do you think?

Hi ! I sprained my left middle finger a couple days ago and I am in a cheerleading worlds championship team (i cannot stop for more than a week) and i need to stunt (lift a girl in the air and grab her shoe tightly), do gymnastics and thwre is always a risk of impact. What type of taping should i do to get a bit more protection ? Or is this taping enough?

Hi Laurence, I would do the splint tape style mentioned at the start of the video where you tape the middle finger the one of the ones beside it. I'd probably go for the pointer finger and middle finger combo. That should add structural support and still have enough circulation. You'll have to play with the stretch of the tape to make sure you don't cut off circulation in the fingers. Good Luck!

What If the injury is not at the knuckle in the middle, but at the knuckle at the bottom of the finger, at the beginning of the hand?

Northern Soul but then you can’t go around because the hand gets in the way.. i meant if you take the same finger you used as example, but move one knuckle down towards your hand. Where the fingers are attached

Oh sorry, I thought you meant going the other way on the finger. Please describe to issue you are having with your knuckle in detail, and I'll try and come up with a taping for you.

Northern Soul that’s okay, thanks for your answer. I’ll try to explain, but it won’t be easy.. it’s the knuckle in the middle of the hand. So the middle finger and then the knuckle where the finger is attached to the hand. The hand is swollen around the knuckle, between the knuckle of the middle finger and the knuckle of the index finger. It feels soar and thick as if there’s fluid inside.. the whole hand feels a bit stiff and also the three middle bungees hurt sometimes, as well is the back of the hand and even the wrist sometimes. I already went to the doctor, they don’t know what is is yet. It’s not broken and unlikely to be bruised because I didn’t hit it on something. Their advise is to tape it for now, but I don’t have a clue how to do that since it is in the middle of the hand... oh and I also need the keep using it since I have a baby of six months old whom I have to pick up. I really hope you can make sense out of this and be able to help me. Thank you!

It all depends on where you buy them, and the brand. Price differences in brand can be very different. I have a video that goes over pricing of the tapes if you are interested on my channel. Here in Canada I can get tape anywhere from $5 - $30 per roll. Thanks for your question

Can we use this as a protection for playing after and injury?.would this guard against injury?

Although this does provide some support so it may help guard against injury, it is limited. It's design is to help after an injury to help with inflammation and speed up healing. I would use it for sport where athletic taping is not used generally used, or specific taping of the hands is common. So yes, but limited is the short answer. It's very good if injured but you still need mobility in the fingers. Thanks for your question!

I would say so, especially if recent. It'll help with the recovery of the ligaments that will be stretched but still provide range of motion. You may need to do finger strengthening exercises after recovery to compensate for the compromised ligaments and to help with limiting the risk of further dislocation. I wish you good health!

try saturating the tape in baby oil or olive oil for a few minute before taking the tape off, or right after a shower when it's soaked
