"There's light at the end of the crazy tunnel." haha Love it! I also have to add that I love how open you are about your anxiety. Mental illness has such a stigma, so I always try to be open about my own depression, anxiety, and ADHD. I appreciate it whenever someone, especially those with a platform, does the same.

It never occurred to me to dismantle the dishwasher, and I'm 61 years old! That's why I watch younger yt creators as well as older ones. You just never know what you can learn. So guess what I'll be doing tomorrow? Thanks for the info. Blessings to you and yours and keep 'em coming. You are so interesting to watch and I always learn something new.💋

My pastor just preached about the goodness of God and made a side comment that exhorted parents to not expect their children to clean their rooms well if they don’t know and to be patient to reteach over and over again. He said you’re going to need to tell the specifically and not having kids and not growing up with parents who were patient with me (I willfully didn’t want to learn actually) I missed many of these things. Most. Ok. All. Thank you for being my vicarious far away Canadian mother (who is half my age) I never knew I needed. “Mama Cass”? Sorry. Lol.

Love learning New things and your always teaching me!! Love it! Love the reality of the gunk we really live with!! I learned that about cleaning the coils on the refrigerator the hard way!! I was told they won't cover warranty if its dirty and something goes out around the coils etc. So this was a great thing To show people!! Mine is at the back of the Refrigerator!!! ANXIETY CAN YOU HELP?? I'm learning mine at time is a real pain!! I'm like you if my house is a mess and I can't get any hell from any direction I absolutely loose it!!!I HATE MEDICATIONS!!! How do you keep yours under control?? My poor husband pays for my outbursts too!!! Thanks for sharing never cleaned my dishwasher before!!! Although I never leave food on my dishes guess I use t more as a sterilization and a rack!! I've never trusted one to actually clean my dishes before..I am hearing that now days they actually do clean???Thx again take care 🤗Shey

what you say about your experience with anxiety meds is the same thing my husband says about his bipolar meds. so he doesnt take any. thus making us suffer his mood swings, erotic spending and life behaviors and his anger. It's sad, because if you research about bipolar you know it's better for them and those around them to be on medication(finding the right one is important) so that they are not a harm to themselves and to their loved ones around them.. Like your anxiety, a mental disorder, bipolar is a mental disorder and it's not curable, just treatable.

JMHIO, But Cass, if you can take a drug (prescription no less) that will make the low less so why not do it? I understand on not wanting to lose the highs (who would, that's the energy for getting things done)., but if you know stress is coming and you know you will go low because of it, why not anticipate and work to reduce that..? Wishing you guys the best during 3 weeks of remodeling...

If you want something gross to clean, take off the front inside panel of the dishwasher. If you use those pods there will be sludge like you've never seen, lol. I don't think that plastic totally dissolves. I'm changing back to liquid detergent. We only took it off because the door wouldn't close, turns out there was a clear lid keeping it from closing. I need to take off the parts you showed as well.

So...speaking of neglected areas, I have a question. I just recently started using a lot of your tips and doing the "bin" thing. Medicine, under sinks, in pantry etc etc. I wondered how often you think the actual inside of the bins should be cleaned? I was so happy getting organized until I thought about cleaning those suckers out :( And can we talk about how stinking frustrating it is that those juice box straw wrappers stick to plates and so easy to miss ugh!
@karenrussell7338
@karenrussell7338 7 жыл бұрын
Allison Smith - about the bin. I try to give mine a quick wipe down with a baby wipe and cleaning spray every night when I take out the liner. I also give the lid a quick wipe too. This keeps it clean as I go along, and I sometimes give it a more thorough clean if I think it needs it.

Girl! Get yourself a microfiber duster for floors to do those wall. I have tongue & groove walls and that thing is a life saver. My friend and I call ourselves abbe-normal and I call myself...complicated. ha. Too many twist and turns to figure me out. ;) The thing with meds is they cause you to actually end up feeling nothing. But then if the lows hang around too long the meds will help lift you out of that. It's a seesaw life.

Oh man! Never would have thought to dismantle the DW! Great, now i know whats really back there ( the funk of 40,000 years) how will i not have to clean that... but looks like work. Thanks a lot for that Cas! =p Glad to say i have worked on the last two recently. But you would probably keel over if you saw my walls. Its horrible but our son has made if them his cave dwelling (literally carved gouges in some places). Its so bad! Our kids always did stuff like that when they are small but he is 8 and this house we just moved in a year ago is the worst its ever been with the walls. Yes he knows its completely not okay and we are working on issues with him. But i have magic erasered all over the house and a lot of it wont come off. Any suggestions or do we need to repaint ( kinda afraid to repaint in case he does it again)?? It doesn't help that in this house for some reason the paint (it came like this) is very matte -no shine - and the walls are soft, the slightest touch seems to leave a mark, or a scuff, or a fingerprint.

@sparklingeyes4jay
@sparklingeyes4jay 7 жыл бұрын
I agree. Bipolar 2 is less manic than bipolar 1, and more high energy, but the depressive lows can be debilitating. Bipolar can sometimes include anxiety, ADHD, or any other disorders. Not always, but it's not uncommon. I am being treated for bipolar 2 and just like Cas, I missed my bursts of organization and productivity. After trying all kinds of ways to "organize my life" I was finally treated for ADHD and now I can function appropriately. Can take a long time sometimes to figure things out, but for me, I'm finally, well, I was going to say normal, but... LOL! I'm doing great! =]
@Betsblue22
@Betsblue22 7 жыл бұрын
Cass you are phenomenal! Thank you for not only your fantastic videos but your bubbly enthusiasm and spreading your joy and light. I totally get your medication story - I tried several low dose anti-anxiety meds and stuck with one for several years. The only way to describe myself was "dull". I stopped crying at commercials, I lost my spark, I gained weight, nothing was bright. If that was what "normal" is, I want nothing of it. It took several months to wean off (which was a horrible process) but eventually I could "feel" again. I think medication definitely has its place but with some milder anxieties it's not a blanket fix and there are many alternatives to try. For me, the game changer was EXERCISE. I put everyone first which as a mom & wife we tend to do. Now, before my Morning Clean Routine, I take time to do some exercise using another excellent youtube channel FITNESS BLENDER. It truly has changed the way I feel and how I handle my anxiety. I think devoting 30 minutes to yourself is a priority to cleaning the kitchen sink. You are worth it. It just makes you a stronger, happier person and the energy lasts all day which in turn means you can continue to care for your family and home the way you do now. Wishing you a happy, healthy and joyful day :-) p.s. I've completed my 25 minute workout and am now going to take care of my sink lol

I like you. I'm glad you don't take your "normal" pulls. 😜. I understand anxiety because I experience it too but I feel like if we do our work in terms of emotions and negative or destructive thoughts, placing healthy boundaries with people we are in relationships with and respecting theirs, making sure we don't neglect our self care and nix the worry factor we can minimize its effects on our lives. That's a lot haha. No wonder we're anxious! And for the record, I can't even THINK of taking apart my dishwasher like that. I NEVER have. I don't even want to know what's growing in there. If I ever get a new one, I'll keep those tips in mind though.

Love your video! The highs/hyperness and lows is actually apart of bipolar disorder. It's usually misdiagnosed as anxiety and depression. When anxiety meds don't work, it's bipolar. It gets a super bad rap, but it's on a spectrum. Some people are way out there while others aren't. I'm not a doctor, but that's my experience with bipolar disorder. I've tried anxiety meds for years and nothing worked. Finally got a doctor last year that diagnosed it correctly. The new bipolar meds work perfectly for me. Best of luck hun!

I totally get the anxiety deal too. we have my bil's kids for 3 months and because they've been destroying my daughter's things, her whole room was basically packed up and is now residing in our bedroom. I'm like, this is wrong. It's out of place. I cannot handle it!!!

Oh my gosh, I so needed to discover you. I have needed help with decluttering and organizing for a long long time but finally made it a vow for 2018 to tackle it step by step. My car, my garage, by basement, house... purse, all of it. Getting rid of stuff I havenet used or touched in years... some in decades, has become so therapeutic. I am waiting for a book you wrote to arrive thru amazon. This is the first day I listened to you on KZbin, and Im already hooked and subscribed. Thankyou for your energy and guidance.

When you were talking about your anxiety I just want to mention to you that if you haven't done it allready it may be a good idea to get your thyroid checked... I have severe anxiety and your energy and mood fluctuations sound alot like early symptoms of hyperthyroidism. I am not a Doctor but this was just my experience with just amounting every explanation to how I felt and my behaviour to simply just having anxiety. Good Luck with your house renovations!!! 😁

I'm just gonna buy a new one and start from scratch! Mine came from the previous owners and is horrific, not to mention the racks are rusting and breaking and have sharp metal points that melt holes in the storage containers and cut the heck out of my hands. Hubby is too cheap to replace, I'm NOT willing to wash by hand. Guess I'll buy one. Ugh.

I love these videos so inspiring I think your great so entertaining loved the car wash trauma story and all the final stories, poor Canadian ducks crossing :( you make me feel normal, come visit Sydney Australia, write it off as a book signing or something would be cool to meet you Cass. Thanks for all the great tips and love your laundry setup, I am on a mission to transform my Harry Potter room aka laundry under my stairs, on a smaller scale of course but hope to make it more inviting so I look forward to doing laundry instead of feeling like I'm Harry Potter doing laundry ha ha. Thanks again Cass for all the great advice lots of love from downunder :)

I bought your book last month.. I was going to get it and get started organizing and purging, yet again I felt overwhelmed... today I finally had enough of hating to go through a ton of things to get to the new tube of toothpaste! I organized and purged my bathroom closet! I did it.. I finally sucked up my I can't do this mentality and hid it away. I am so surprised how super great it felt to accomplish something I have be neglecting to do! Thank you for a great video and an even better book! took me awhile to believe I could do it.. hope I will continue because I need to have a happier home. the clutter just isn't working for me anymore! 💕
