I have seeds coming today from MiGardener! I'm SO EXCITED!!!! Our garden has not been the best the last 2 summers because I got back into kayak racing after a 10 year break, and have spent the last 2 summers training and doing a 340 mile race across MO, so the garden got put on the " back burner". I have a renewed motivation for the garden now, and will concentrate on it more this year! I want to do more medicinal herbs, so can't wait to see what you're doing! Congratulations on 100,00 subscribers, and ooooh that Ivy June...cannot even handle her and all her silly cuteness!😆🥰

I personally love the messy, chaotic content. Vlog style is my favorite, but you always manage to squeeze in some knowledge. Congrats on 100k !! I'm so excited to get back into the garden and follow along in yours! P.s. are you guys thinking about attending any Baker Creek fests this year!?

Thank you for the support, we're so glad you enjoy the content. We won’t be making any of the Baker Creek events. We have a pretty full schedule of events lined up this year

Im saying this with a smile on my face, but when I watched you cut the cardboard with scissors my shoulders hunched all up. I have scissors for different fabric, vinyl, leather, for use in the kitchen. So I had to smile to myself for being so silly about my scissors. :)

Love the vlog, need some extra motivation to start seeds and need help getting excited about the garden again. Last summer kicked my butt and I didn’t do anything over this winter. We also thought we would have to move this summer so I was scared to plant garlic, but this video has helped me get a little spark started I think! Also, love that yellow couch. It looks cozy. Happy 6 months to Ziggy!

Just finished this week with my seed inventory and am in the process of putting together an order - made up a spreadsheet to see who has what and at what price. We do have a large local nursery that carries a lot of the seed vendors that I use, so going to visit them this week to see what I can get locally before I start paying shipping costs online. Looking forward to the next family vlog.

Jess, would be crying over the seeds thrown out, but I understand organization sometimes means tossing some stuff out
@WhisperingWillowFarm2 күн бұрын
By “tossing” i meant keeping in a 5 gallon bucket for Nate to plant for our pigs. I should have clarified that. We aren’t throwing away but reusing them for the animals

I overbuy seeds like crazy and always have lol we can afford it so I just started calling it a collection and I'm working on saving my own seeds as much as possible so I'm no longer rebuying the same kinds of seeds. i definitely bought some duplicates this year thinking i was out and i wasnt so i definitely need to go through what i have before ordering next year. I map out my garden spaces first including any new spaces I'm adding and I get a vague idea of what types of things I want to grow. My food goals are less about growing for us and more practicing growing all kinds of things to potentially do market gardening so the goal is just get the practice in and hone in the skills. I used seed time to tell me when I need to start seeds for everything I'm starting and wrote it out and then took all the seeds and put them in a bucket in rows that are in order of when they need to be started so I can work through it start to finish.

Hi Jill, I followed along with you even though I an in late summer. I don't need to purchase any seeds! But I do need to review and plan out my garden. The total area is approx. 10x4 metres Not very big so I will have to plan it out well.

Most seeds remain viable for many years, except a few like carrots and onions. You might be discarding perfectly good seeds! Doing a germination test before discarding older seeds could save you some money.
