Hey there! Mom of 7 here, and am truly fascinated by your channel. I've been kinda doing my own thing for my family for a bit, but am so greatful I found your channel. I can't wait to continue this journey and so excited to hear your coming out with a book! This year will do amazing things for all of us! I believe things happen for a reason. So thankyou for sharing your knowledge.

Love your videos. Just starting out with my own little apothecary and I have been watching all your videos now for like a month, month and a half. Your knowledge has helped me so much and it’s very approachable to understanding so many things. Hope to meet you one day in person!! (I’m in Florida) thanks again!

My mother's family were share croppers in the boot heal of Missouri during the great depression of the 30s and 40s... The only thing they ever had to go to the grocery store for was flour and sugar. They had everything else. My grandmother made my moms dresses out of flour sacks because they always had flowery designs on them. You will do great taking care of your family because you are already waay ahead f the curve. I really do appreciate your channel Kaylee. Keep doing God's work.

I want to start slow with just maybe 1 or 2 hives. Do you have a video on how to start being a small beekeeper and what’s involved? If not could you do that? Like a process from A-Z and how to do things holistically with bees?

❤ Thank you for this video and yes, bought the mushroom blend! 😊 2025 is my year for taking my own advice and products that I create rather than caring for others before myself. I baked various sourdough breads today and froze some for summer eating, but plan to strain tinctures Friday once my dishwasher’s repaired (deep cleaning jars).

Video request submission "How to grow turmeric." All the sweetest details
@davidstick92073 күн бұрын
Grow it just as you grow ginger. You can actually raise either fairly successfully in cloth containers. You won't get huge yields...but you can easily produce enough for your needs. Search "how to grow ginger".

David, I have old stor bought turmeric root that is starting to dry out. Can I use that to grow sprouts of new root growth. If yes, what time of year. And what process. Is the sprouts better to consume than the new full-grown turmeric? Is growing turmeric and ginger exactly the same, or is there best practices for unique turmeric?

I’ve heard that if you have a double row fencing, that deer will not jump the fence, I don’t know you may want to check into that.

Hot water causes the metal ring to expand away from the glass. It works if the ring rust hasn't fused to the glass. I use the hot water method and tap the ring (lightly) on the cupboard to cause the lid to decompress.

Hi. What was the temperature in your area to allow the bees to be that active? Your apiary looks really nice in the fenced in area. Are you planning any early mite treatments? I am a bit further north than you. I checked my apiary, yesterday, but the temperature was only about 35 degrees F. A few of the hives were in the direct sun when I looked at them, and I did see a few bees at the entrance crawling around. There is still snow on the ground. All last week the temps were around zero degrees F. My bees have been clustered in the hives since about Thanksgiving. The forecast for Wednesday is 50 degrees F in my area, so I may get to observe active hives then.

It was mid 40s but felt warmer today. I plan to heavy split my colonies in spring. I'll do a mite check, but I'm working on an experiment using herbs instead of mite treatments. So far so good!

I didn't realise they dropped them away from the hives.. I have seen other videos where keepers let their chickens roam around the apiary eating the dead bees from beneath the hives. Does this behaviour vary?

I think bees actually vibrate the plates on their body to create heat. In a tight cluster I don't think they can flap their wings.
