Great idea on the zipper- and the fact that you can actually take the cover off and wash it.

I just found your channel and am watching your videos to see all of your great projects. Love your color choices! Knitty Natty did not come up with that swatching technique. It’s been around since forever and many others have shared how to do it for years. She makes a lot of tutorials to monetize other peoples ideas. I’m glad you found the technique and her information helped you, it’s just not hers. Keep on knitting your beautiful knits and thanks so much for sharing!🌻

Hi Chelsea. If you’re into lace, you can have a lace detail at the top of your sock in one color and then knit or helical knit the two colors. I think Joji Locatelli has something like that. Have you heard about contiguous sleeves? I tried it last year by making Southampton Soft sweater and I like it, it’s similar to raglan but it gives the look of set-in sleeves. I just discovered your channel and I’ve been spending my Saturday binge watching your episodes. Take care Rosy

I just found your podcast and was excited when you said you live in Bellingham! My son lives there and I used to I've in Sudden Valley and Birch Bay! You have access to so many beautiful shops in Washington state 😍 Socks! I have a passion for knitting socks and just bought seven skeins of Amble sock yarn in solids to make some socks from the 52 weeks of socks book by Laine. It's a beautiful book! If you love sock knitting you will love the book. You are becoming an accomplished knitter! Great podcast!

On the subject of yarny books, In the Footsteps of Sheep by Debbie Zawinski is a great read. A travel/camping log through Scotland meeting sheep, spinning yarn, and includes 10 patterns.

I prefer the white accent for the socks! The green is pretty but a little barneyish? Both of the sweaters are so cute, and i want to make those pillow covers!

For blocking your knits you can buy a large piece of fabric with 1”x1” squares or get the Cocoknit Blocking Kit (mat) that includes one .

⚪I totally loved your previous vlog! I don't think there's a right or wrong or more interesting way to vlog, in my opinion. I just love seeing people's day to day crafting and travels with their craft. ⚪The way you put your own twist on those vanilla socks looks so amazing! I've been loving the look of a ribbed sock lately ever since doing the Sunday socks. ⚪Oh my god I'm working on the Camisole no.2 as well and my tension is horrendous, lol. I'm glad I'm not the only one going through that. ⚪For the next sock you're making, I would use the green for the cuff and toe and the ivory color for the heel xD ⚪The reason your two Longdog Yarn sock yarns looked different is because the one labeled "sock" is a 2-ply yarn and the one labeled "bounce sock" is a 4-ply yarn :). I'm no expert, but 2-ply is a bit "fluffier", or "plumpier" creating a squishier fabric and 4-ply is sturdier and creates better definition when it comes to textured stitches. Loved this video soooo much! I'm working on a crochet sweater while watching this and I got so much done, which I'm very happy about. This comment is sooo uber long, but I just felt compelled haha. Can't wait for your next one!
@truelaneknits2 жыл бұрын
Omg the PLIES! I keep reading about ply but haven’t looked into it-this is very illuminating lol. Thank you sooo much for all your feedback I truly appreciate it! Can’t wait to see all your kits come together this year and that camisole no. 2 dress! 💓

My ribbing always looks nicer on the wrong side! I read that you can just finish the ribbing, then flip it wrong side out. Then, you use a German short row to change directions. I haven’t done it just yet, but I plan to try for my next project because my 1x1 rib is SO much cleaner on the inside. I found your channel yesterday and I love your videos! You might think they aren’t interesting, but your chill personality and calm voice is so relaxing and the perfect thing to watch while I knit! I totally agree on bigger needles. I knit socks the most (but recently am getting really into sweaters) and I’ve been knitting the Felix Cardigan in size 11 needles (I’m a tight knitter so I went up a size). I can only do it for a little bit before needing a break! I think doing a white cuff and toe and a green heel would be super cute for the socks! I’ve done a 3x1 sock and it is BY FAR my favorite sock. Idk why I haven’t made another one, they fit me the best of any of my other socks!! I’m part of the yarn club too (DK weight, I have too much fingering yarn lol) and as soon as omg opened it my husband claimed it as yarn for me to make him a hat 😂 If you haven’t seen, definitely check out Tinyhumanknits - she has been doing super fun self striping sock yarn based on lord of the rings!
@truelaneknits2 жыл бұрын
Omg I’ll have to look into that ribbing trick! I haven’t tried short rows yet so maybe that would be a good place to start. And thanks for letting me know about your LOTR club status lol I should give a warning about spoilers next time I post it 🙈 thank you sooo much for all the feedback and kind words!
@Tutinella19842 жыл бұрын
@@truelaneknits I noticed that ribbing always looks better after you block it - I stopped stressing about it, because I am in the same club - it always looks better on the wrong side! But once you wash your make and block it, it looks 10x better! Especially if you used yarns that are not heavy in acrylic/man-made fibre. Someone mentioned trying the twisted rib - that is also an option, but I find it is not as stretchy as 1x1. I am also thinking if trying a different technique for purls would make a difference. I am a continental knitter, but I make quite loose purls when I knit in flat - so I started doing Norwegian purls when I work on cardigans or doing short rows, and I can see huge difference! Might be worth giving it a try :)
@truelaneknits2 жыл бұрын
@@Tutinella1984 ooh good to know about the twisted rib stretchiness! Yeah, I’m not too worried about the 1x1 rib because I know I’ll get better with time…so hopefully blocking does the trick this time! ☺️

My first comment even though I've been watching since you started. Im also from the PNW, living across from Seattle in Silverdale. I'm personally more of a crocheter than a knitter but I'm loving your journey. For those socks, knit up the red as the body and use the cream as a stripe on the top of the cuff then the green for the heel and toe. I think that would really look nice.
@truelaneknits2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Kattie! I love both crafts so much, I could never choose 😍 I am definitely using both accent colors for the socks, can’t wait to share them!

I have the same experience with 1x1 ribbing and the wrong side being so much nicer! Try maybe a twisted rib (k1tbl, p1) for if you want a more defined ribbing.

I love your podcasts! I am new to podcasting too and also found it hard to decide for my first episode what people would find interesting. I have the same issue with 1x1 rib too. I have just knit a really long rib on some socks and it makes me sad the inside looks nicer!

I also feel pain knitting with larger needles ; I think this is because these bigger size needles holds heavier yarn 🧶….and the project is becoming heavier as we go …..So I’m alternating with a dk or fingering project after 30 min to rest my hands …..
